Found this on ChapterMasters.com Wish this guy knew which forum he got the info from.

"GW was opening at 12am on the 30th of June to sell the Rulebook. It was then closing and opening again at 10am? "

Was it here?

Sorry if it's a double post.

Not sure about GW stores, but I know a lot of FLGS that will be doing that. My shop is staying open until 1am or so. We also game late on Fridays, and we can start selling the new rules at midnight.

30th is a Saturday. I would actually go drive at 11:30p to grab one. And then stay up all night reading it.

That actually helps me out. I wont nights, and my friday doesnt end until 630am saturday. With the closest GW being 2 1/2 hours away...makes it a no go.

Ive been saying that I wont buy the book until I see proof of big changes...but my will power to stick to that is fading. My budget really doesnt need a $75 hit...so anything that makes it more difficult for me is good.

Whats my game?

I've never heard of a midnight release at GW before, but if my local one did it for 6th edition I would totally be up for it.

If you preorder to have it shipped to your door (through GW or say Warstore) will it be Friday or the following week?

I've never bought a big rule book in my life but 6th just seems like THE edition to get things right, though I have a huge gut feeling that everything will be perfect but the game will be totally ruined by broken psyker spells.
Yeah, 75$ for a rulebook is pretty costly but at least its the only one you need for the next 2-3 years. I might just mooch off a friend or the store if I don't buy it and eventually buy the mini-rule-book that comes in the starter set on ebay for $10.

Through the Warstore, no. Neal has to abide by the restrictions the rest of us have, and we probably won't get the rulebooks until that friday.

GW might send stuff out in the mail early, to arrive for the weekend. But no guarantees of when it gets there.

But if you feel the need to post in threads about GW, doesn't that mean your life does revolve around it?) Sounds like a cry for attention.

I think it's a cool idea for stores to do the midnight openings/sales for the new edition to please some of their fans.

Could be fun; I will probably be getting up early to drive to CT for a tournament, though. I might see if my FLGS will be doing it, and stop by to pick one up. Hmm.

No, no, he's totally cooler than everyone else. I heard he has a girlfriend and everything. And she's a model, and she totally lets him stay over at night.

This is an inane fallacy, you know. Considering the effort it takes to post on these forums, i.e. none at all, it's flat-out misleading to say that anyone who does so must be a hardcore wargamer and a GW supporter simply on that evidence alone. A person could maintain an active forum presence on ten, twenty or fifty forums with as little as 15 minutes spent every few days, does that mean their life revolved around all those things? Of course not, that'd be a stupid thing to say.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

There is no confirmation.

That being said, the Seattle Bunker will have a midnight opening on either the 30th or the 7th, whichever is the actual release date.

Midnight release? What a great idea! Too bad no one will get told that it's an option, meaning no one will show, and GW will think such releases aren't worth their time.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Ah I'm busted. I guess I better get out and wait in line for a book about plastic toys so I can be the first in line my area to have it and tell everyone for the next 4 years that I am a true hardcore GW players; as I was there at the very start!!! 8 hours before everyone else! That also will make me an expert on all that is 6E and all will bow to me in my godliness at my dedication to GW.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Or it could possibly just be that people are really excited about a new edition of GW flagship game and cant wait to get their hands on it to see what has changed? No different to a midnight launch of a console or video game. You're a bit of a total wally and twit really arent you?

The term is elitist.

Don't worry I make fun of the geeks who line up for a movie or a video game too at midnight.

Actually the term would be Anti Elitist as Elitist is reserved for those in line at midnight =]

Why do I get this image in my head where a Redshirt keeps telling people to show up at midnight, but won't tell anyone why due to the inane secrecy policy GW has.

"Big midnight launch guys! Everyone better be here!"
"A launch for what?"
"'Fraid I can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"Just can't. Want to buy a Stompa?"

I think you're confusing Elitist with Enthusiast. To get in line for an early release means you're excited about something and care about it. To be elitist means to hold yourself as superior, which is what you're doing by looking down on those people. Seriously, the more you post to say that you don't care, the sillier and more dishonest you appear.
