I'm thinking about it, and honestly I cannot think of anything big that has changed in the established fluff since I was first introduced to the game 15 years ago. All the major players (Karl Franz, Teclis, Leoncur, etc...) are still alive, no faction has experienced any crushing defeats or expansions, all in all the few "big" events that GW held has really done nothing more then maintain the status qou.

So what would you like to see happen?

I personally feel it's time to truly bring back the Chaos Dwarfs, and a massive invasion from the east could be due. Crush the Border Princes and Tilea, thereby directly involving Skaven, Tomb Kings, Dwarves, Bretonnia, O&G, and Wood Elves due to the closeness of their territories. So the only real factions not directly effected would be High Elves, Chaos, Dark Elves, Empire, and Lizardmen. Would be easy enough to tie something in for those factions.

In the end GW could work up brand new territorial changes that still have major impacts to the world, but doesn't directly have a large negative impact on any of the other factions.

I don't want to see Chaos anything. I don't want to see Human anything.

A Lizardman invasion. An Ogre war march. A Woodelf night time party that became slightly too loud for the neighbors. Tomb Kings hell bent on killing all the greenskins in the area. Elves doing sissy elf stuff somewhere.

Just not WoC. And not Empire. Pure Daemons, sure. Beastmen, sure.

I want to see the High Elves get butchered and the rule of Ulthuan return to its rightful king.

So yeah, that's not gonna happen.

At the very least they could have the Dark Elves actually hold the remains of Nagarythe and be in the process of rebuilding Anlec, rather than follow the usual process of "they crash through and capture around half of Ulthuan, then the tide slowly turns against them and are pushed off thanks to Teclis and Tyrion."

A war between Dark Elves and High Elves that doesn't follow the exact same path as always:

1. Malekith invades Ulthuan
2. Malekith roflstomps stuff
3. One High Elf hero/character somehow screws up a single event
4. Dark Elves utterly owned
5. Repeat

That would be cool. Have the forces of good go on the offensive for a change.

Lizardmen's age of isolation ends and the age of restoration (or whatever) begins. Frogs float out with their armies and begin to rebuild the web, no matter who may object.

I'd say if GW planned on creating a new army, Araby would be ripe for it, considering they created one for Warmaster. They've even got the giant monster down that they seem to like running with lately.

It's been 1,000 years since their last military assault into the Old World, their due.

I support this notion! We need more roflstomping done by our beloved Goatmen and other farm animals with a taste for blood

Well yes, that would be nice. And there is a fan dex flowing around the web, but sadly it is not the best one. That honnour goes to Eastlia and Tillea

I've looked at that codex, and it struck me as less creative than the actual Chinese armies in ancient wargaming, which is a shame.

Cathay offers a number of possibilities, and it would serve to move the story away from the Empire.

I would actually like my beloved rat men to do more then simply

1. Invade surface
2. Win for a bit
3. Get stopped for no apparent reason by a much smaller force
4. Treachery and in-fighting coupled by the sudden incredible fighting abilities of whatever land they happen to be in drives them back
5. No long lasting effect on the world occurs
6. Try again next time

All i want to see is some long term impacts of the Skaven, the fact that the majority of the empire doesn't believe in their existence i find to be one of the most absurd facets of the fluff, lemme play it out.
"Hey Heimrich, whats that over there?" "Well Hanz that's just our emperor riding on a giant flying eagle tiger wielding a Dwarven made Hammer fighting a few dragon ogres. chaos spawn, Daemons, and evil animal people, next to a group of magic wielding priests fighting alongside a few elves." "Well have you heard about the rat people that apparently invade us all the time Heimrich?" "Rat people don't be stupid Hanz, what are you eight, now if you will excuse me my battalion has been called upon to fight some orcs, goblins a few vampires riding undead dragons, several giant lizards with abandonment issues and a couple of grumpy old mummies."

Silacier & Rozgarth: Hey you should start playing warmahords with us.
Me: OK (sets down Tyranid, drives to store and picks up Legion of Everblight)
Me: the more things change....

"The Fall of Miragliano" was a journal-style story published in White Dwarf (266 I think) right before the release of an older Skaven book by Alessio.

More or less the city was left to ruins because it was attacked by Skaven by first hitting them with plagues and then invading with the whole city looting for valuables and slaves to be carted back to Skavenblight leaving Miragliano in ruins. There was also some mentions of the city being in decline since the losses of Borgio and Leonardo. As far as I know, there has not been much mention of Tilea much less Miragliano from that point. The newer Skaven book makes mention of some Tileans near the marshes getting attacked which might be Miraglians as well.

After reading the story, I began to reform my old DoW army's fluff to be the one that tries to restart Miragliano as a Republic.

They did what Skaven do to towns, then some hero showed up and roflstomped them.

Oh no! I've always liked Miragliano, even had plans for an Empire army meant to be from there. Very well, I shall have to write my own fluff for the return to glory of the proud state.
