Okay so I figure your thinking "what in the hell is the "Double V lack of BLOS terrain" tactic".
well its when you have a significant lack of BLOS terrain in your deployment area so you take your raider and in a V formation in front of your ravagers of venoms as to give them a cover save?
I seem to use it allot and I never see anyone else using it, so I was wondering, do any of you?

Hell yeah! It's one of the best ways to use our vehicles in my opinion, it's the whole reason I don't find venom spam that useful

My friend has only loose trees, no solid area terrain or buildings and a well placed raider can deny a counter charge or give a more important unit cover, the shock prow just means you can always rely on your mobile wall being able to do something!

I remember reading a tactica by dashofpepper years ago where he mentioned tank shocking to create advantageous assaults, since that world of possibility has been opened, I've never even considered a list without at least 3 raiders

Absolutely.

It's part of the reason I believe pure venom spam (that is, 9 venoms, 3 ravagers, beast pack and the baron) isn't the best way to play DE.

My troops are 3-4x warrior venoms (depending on points) and 2x raiders filled with either Wyches or Wracks, depending on points as well. I find that they make a potent counter-assault element as well as improve the survivability of my Venoms drastically.

Although if the cover save nerf goes through for 6th, this will be a nigh-useless tactic since DE vehicles come with a 5++ built in.

I actually make a wall with 2 raiders and use 2 more raiders to make half walls and hide everything else behind em

It's a good trick, I've seen DE players resort to similar stuff when their board doesn't have the required LOS blocking stuff.

of course. You want to have at least 1 combat squad in any list. A unit of wyches to tie something up if need be. Then i find it nice to have 1 of the units of warriors in a raider.

I find it depends on what you have in the raiders - if you are using the wych raiders to block LOS to the venoms with warriors you have it the wrong way round!

I would rather the venoms provide obscuremnt to the assault troops raiders!

Normally I run 5 x 5man warrior squads in venoms and 2 blasterborn groups in venoms. Incubi and wyches are in raiders though. I find the balance they bring can realy keep my opponent off balance. Now do I rush across either? No...unless it's tau or IG. I sit back and make my opponent respond to me, once he gets close enough my raiders (which are shielded by venoms) pounce and get 'em. If I need to move up I go along the flanks. I've never heared of this double V thing though. If anything I will use venoms to screen even ravagers since I have 7 venoms but only 3 ravagers.
