Hello there.

I thought it might be quite interesting to find out what Warmahordes armies the players here on Dakka collected, so here's a poll.

Cheers!

I'm surprised to see so many Cygnar players. In my local group I'm the only primary player.

Cygnar is one of the most popular armies out there.

Along with Cryx and khador usually.

Mercenaries is the real surprise so far, imo.

Cygnar and Cryx for now, so that's what I voted. I do intend to pick up Everblight at some point in the near future.

No foolin'.

Currently:

Blindwater
Mercs
Cryx
Menoth
Khador
Legion

Technically, you could add Cygnar to the list, since I have Haley, Finn, and all the stuff for Magnus' Bad Seeds.

Plan on adding Circle and maybe Skorne and Trolls.

Cryx and Cygnar, and maybe if the wife doesn't kill me I will be picking up a hordes army at some point. I was kinda looking towards Ever Blight as they look pretty cool. But that is still on the back burner until I get my Cryx and Cygnar fully painted. Not to mention pick up my Stormwall and Kraken

Protectorate and Circle as my main factions, but I have the Khador portion of the two player starter waiting paitently for when I´m more or less finished with painting either of those.

I've got a lil bit for Legion of Everblight and Khador, to try out and just start get into the game (starter sets).

Though when they come out with a starter for the pigs, I'm going to snatch it up and go from there.

In order of cash priority:
Cygnar
Protectorate
Orboros
Retribution

I may someday add Cryx, but none of the other Hordes factions interest me enough to shell out the cash.

Protectorate, Khador, Cryx, and Elves. Used to have a small Skorne force and I'm eyeing some sort of Hordes army - probably Circle or Legion because I like fast stuff.

Malfred beat me to it, but "All of them."

I can field at least 25 points for every faction, contract or pact. I'm hoping have at least 50 for everything by the end of the year - not too difficult, actually.

My official faction choice is "All of the above"

I'm surprised there aren't more ret players, as their sleeker asthetic doesn't really have an overlap with all anyother faction,.. I mean you kinda figure they'd draw in all the people who aren't fans of the usual war machine models

I think most people who play Warmachine like the aesthetic of 'jacks. Still, if someone hated warjacks for some reason, they could always run an infantry-heavy list.

I play Legion. I'm considering starting a Protectorate force at some point, simply because I love how they look... but I like Khador, too.

I'm surprised by how underrepresented Skorne are.
I know why the army doesn't speak to me as a whole personally but I also know I like a lot of their models.
I was recently choosing between skorne and legion and went with legion only because of all the symmetry in the Skorne army where most of the units and many of the beasts look alike.

Some of the newer players I've met have indeed been Retribution players.

I agree! I stripped down what I presently play / collect to 2. Most of the people I know own anywhere from 4-5 factions that can be played at 35-50 pts at multiple casters. I gave up thinking this was cheaper then GW games in to plan in the long term. I think its cheaper initially... but then you start getting ideas of "oh i just want this 1 caster / theme list" how quickly that turns into a faction.

Primary: Searforge ~ Gorten / Durgen, have the whole contract minus Long Bottom.
Secondary: Khador~ Karchev & eButcher's Reavers.

Impulse buys: Kromac. eKreoss.. no idea why...

Formerly owned:
Cygnar in Mk1, every caster!
Skorne~ morghoul
Retribuion~ rhan / kaelyssa

The thing about Ret is that it has less models than the other factions. At least that's why I think less players choose it. And I personally do not like the look of the jacks, but I do like most of the infantry.

After the recent boost of models, they are now on par with the other factions with model.

The problem with their Jacks, they are all Smooth models, IE almost no ability to highlight, their jacks always end up looking plan which was the problem I ran into with painting them. I may give them another go, as you said Their infantry is reall nice: Dawn Guard, Battlemages, Mage Hunters all rock in models and gameplay.

I like a lot of Skorne. Their red-gold armour is just so cool! I love a whole lot of their design, but it's plagued by things like...

Their warlocks and infantry look great for the most part, but I really dislike all of their warbeasts. They look really derpy, for the most part.

When you're "plagued" by the awesomeness of an Ankylosaur, you're doing alright.

At least it's not Winter Guard Infantry. Those things are plain hard to look at.

But look at the silly gondola on its back! It's just so... huge and oddly proportioned!

What's wrong with Winter Guard?

They're oddly proportioned and sculpted in awkward, unnatural poses. They're really all around bad sculpts. People have been asking for resculpts since they were released in MkI.
