Well going by the poster on the right (Ronnie's left) its either going to be a space/epic game or some sort of miniature based sport/competitive themed game (maybe futuristic themed, it looks like the first Tron movie or Rollerball), or alternately going by the colour and graphic style they're just remaking Wizard of Wor, about time too. I'd say the futuristic sports game is the most likely candidate, it will also most likely be a self contained board game with future expansions much like their Dwarf Kings Hold and Project Pandora ranges.


So Scarlet on a scale of 1 to 10 how right am I and do I get a prize?

Certainly the book says "Epic" it appears to have a fantasy style cover and the one big gap GW left for fantasy gaming was when they dropped the ball with Warmaster, scewing their customers and hanging it out to dry. it out to dry.

Now if Mantic are going to produce relatively cheap - plastic? - 10-15mm fantasy figures with a good playable set of rules then this might be a winner. The Plastic Soldier Company has proven a good plastic 15mm range can be a winner, especially paired with a good gaming system

Judging by the picture and the comments here, I would hazard a guess at some sort of BFG-alike system.

If its a 6-10mm system, Im happy If its a sports game,I might be happy

Hmmm, cannot raise much enthusiasm for this as unless there is some great new game mechanic, it will seem to be a poor mans Bloodbowl.

If futuristic sports-board games aren't your thing then fair enough, but at least acknowledge that's a subjective opinion, and not indicative of some general failure on Mantic's part..

I think it's fair to assume all opinions are subjective.

I'll pick it up when it comes out, maybe it'll be the easy to play Blood Bowl type game I want.

I'm fairly sure only I, and possibly Legoburner, saw them at Adepticon. (Along with the Jump Pack Marines and Corp Vehicle)

Yes, but there is a difference between saying "I don't like the idea of this, think I will pass" and "Mantic have made a fundamental error by making this game, its not going to be any good" (despite not having seen anything beyond a product code and price tag!)

I accept your point, but I stand by mine.

I did not say the game would be no good and I have no doubt the finished product will be well produced with good miniatures, but I am disappointed in their choice, as I was hoping for something original.

I would prefer something like speed ball over american football.

Another sneak peak of some minis and art, in the time honoured "small and blurry cellphone pic" format beloved of all rumour posters everywhere.

In my previous post I was a little downbeat, but this does seem to have shades of Speedball to it - no bad thing.

I can guess the figures will be fine so if the rulebook can deliver a fast paced game like Speedball, it looks as if I might have to eat my words.

Got the see and hold the minis this weekend, they look really nice. Totally new sculpts, quality was on par with the Hero models in KOW/Warpath.

I will definitley be geting a squad and painting them up, even if the game itself sucks I can always use them for Blodbowl. I hope that the rules offer something different than Blodbowl though.

I think i will do a squad in my favorite college (american) football colors. First squad UNC.

From the discussion going on in the News thread, it sounds like it will be very much different!

It sounds like it will be much faster paced and higher scoring than BB.
