question is simple enough i guess, I am completly OCD and cannot stand outlier units that are not the same rank and file ( i have to keep the volume on my television on an increment of 5)

so i have never wanted to play SW before as they allow for too much disparity.

however, with my 2000+ list having 2 seperate allied detachments can i then take Rune Priest (generic) in my first FOC and Rune Preist (generic) in my second FOC as they are technically 2 seperate detachments/armies???

thanks in advance

No, they are the same army. Allies form the same army with the parent list.

I think you can becasue they are diffrent FoCs. You can't use two Uniques, but I don't think that the unit he is talking about is Unique.

Anyway I hope you are right, don't want two runic weapons in play at the same time.

You can have two runic weapons in play anyway - just give each psyker different wargear and powers. Not difficult

Leaders of the Pack is an army wide restriction. There are/can be multiple Force Organization charts in an army. You still have to have different wargear across all HQ choices.

I'd agree with this. Nothing in the FOC rules gives a "reset" to restrictions. In fact, its after the "bigger games" section that we are given the definition of a unique character.

To the OP, if you are looking to have rune priests in the army, you are unlikely to ever use their shooting weapon over their PSA. For the same points you can give one a bolter instead of a bolt pistol.

They'll behave the exact same way on the board and you have the same points. Does that assuage any of your ocd?

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Technically I am pretty sure you could run 8 Rune Priests if you wanted and did spell substitutuion or gave each one a different spell combo and different gear and it would be valid, cheesy but valid

But they can't have the same combination of psychic powers.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

From what I'm hearing at the game stores. 2000 points is going to be 1 FOC. They don't want cheese at the store.

So long as one thing is different with each one (i.e. 6 Rune Priests all with jotww and one different power each) that counts as different powers, but as has been said, it will carry across.

Personally, I'm going to take advantage of the double FOC to create a 'Legends' Space Wolf army using all 8 space wolf special characers in the one list.

I personally wouldn't consider lucas a legend.

With challenges, Lukas' special rules now make him a legend.

It's also, as far as I know, one of the few armies (if not the only) where you can run every special character in the book in 1 game.

The list may well suck, but then I don't care, it's funny.

Nids can run all of their named characters at about about 1000 pts including two small troop units.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Black Templars can run all ours and still only have them count as 1 HQ choice. Take THAT!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I will probably set up one guy w/ Bolter and other with Bolt Pistol, for my 2k list

So now i just need to ask before each game whether my opponet will allow IC battle brothers in my Vendetta's (another topic entirely)

That is debatable. I started a thread on this but it kinda died. There are two rules involved:
1. You cannot embark in your allies transports (regardless of Ally type).
2. IC's a re members of the unit they join for all rule purposes.

Some say rule 1 takes priority, others say Rule 2 overrides it. DIscuss with your group how it should be played.

All of ours, if you take Ripper swarms of 3 and 4 as troops.

I am of the argument that specific (IC can) vs general (BB cannot) has higher presidence, It to me is the same as how Vanguard vets are able to assault out of DS, specific rules state that they have this ability. however, i will ask my opponet before deployment how they feel before any action is taken.

You can read the rebuttals and counter arguments on problably page 3 or 4, I think the thread is entitled IC's and Battel Brother Transports or something like that.
