So I have played alot of different lists over the last few months.
But i noticed alot of peole at my club(around two actually) dont ever change lists. They just keep them the same not matter because they feel it works.
But i wonder how many here do that?

5000pts 6000pts 3000pts

I change quite a bit, although depending on the army those changes could be quite minor.

I very rarely run the same list in multiple games except if they are all in the same tournament. I like to mix it up

It depends on the scale of the change.

I usually change my list every half dozen games or so. These changes are usually pretty tiny, though, and reflect corrections (I thought that unit would be better in that loadout), or are small adjustments based on local meta.

I make bigger changes (like swapping whole units out) about half as frequently. This usually has more to do with me wanting to play a particular unit or a particular style than anything else. I can usually only got a few months without priests before I cave in and put at least one back in.

I make really big changes (changing out several units and refocusing my list about every 3 years or so). Usually, it's triggered by a new codex, or a new rules edition coming out.

Honestly the core of my list is very similar i just change and build around it.

If the meta has shifted to where I need protection the Land
Raiders come out against hordes i take Dakka Predators. But Generally I see low model count Elite Armies so I take AP 2

This. I might barely tweak a list, but it's never the exact same list.

I'm always playing to refine my lists. Since my FLGS has a high concentration of competitive players, I find that playing constantly has made me a better player and has taught me what works and what doesn't in terms of unit selections and wargear.

In friendlies: everytime I play.

In tourneys: everytime. There's no perfect list. Always strife for perfection.

Every list is different. There are similarities, but each is a fresh start.

I play WYSIWYG, so there is only a certain amount of flex on what things can be. I.E. I have two librarian models, one in power armor with a force staff and an auspex, the other in TDA with an axe and a stormbolter. Don't have one with a storm shield, so I don't field one. But I also have three chaplains, two captains, and calgar, so there are plenty of options for HQ picks.

Some of my tactical squads are more fixed then others. 1st squad is a bunch of RT era marines with a ML/F, sarge has a bolter and a pair of binoculars. They get fielded in one of my two rhinos in almost every list. My second troop pick -tends- to be a MM/M tac squad, with BP/CCW on the sarge with the other rhino, but not always. I've got lots of extra weapon options to swap around into the company as needed.

My army lives on shelves, not in boxes. When I go to make a list, I look at the assembled troopers and see who's calling out to me. Who hasn't seen combat in a while? Who are the solid veterans that never let me down? Is there some new tactic I want to try? A theme list?

After the men have spoken their piece, I sit down in the recliner with the codex, pencil and paper, and a calculator and make the day's list.

I usually build a list around the same core component. My Crimson Fists usually run with the same 1200 or so points of two tac squads, two Sternguard squads, Pedro Kantor and Rhinos for everybody. After that I fill out whatever other points I have with whatever else I want, be it two squads of assault Marines, Devastators, Assault Terminators, or what have you.

I change lists for every game I play. I rarely reuse one. Sometimes the overall approach remains consistent, but something will change.

It's why I make such big armies. I don't build to a list, I build to what's possible, and then make lists from that.

I have 5 armies (and 2 more if youcount the pile of Ork and Dark Eldar that has been dropped off on me, that I never use, or look at) and when I play games, sometimes I get a day to get ready, sometimes a week. And the points range from 500 to 2000..even the odd numbers like 1750, or 1825 (I have no clue why) so my lists has to change often.

I have certain building blocks that I field quite often.
But I never field the exact list twice. I have just to many cool models to fit in one list anyway. So I have to change to be able to use them.

Constantly.

I rarely play exactly the same list twice, and would get bored pretty quickly if i was forced to.

Plus my opponents would figure out the easy kill on the list pretty quickly. I don't care overmuch if i win or lose as long as i'm having fun, but playing a photocopy list against another photocopy list for the n'th time is the definition of grinding boredom for me ...
