This just in from Michael J. Nelson (creator of Rifftrax, former head writer of Mystery Science Theater 3000):

Michael J Nelson
BronyCon 2012 drew a crowd of 4000 chubby little pervs. Must speed up the plans for my solitary space colony on Venus.

The fact every guy in these Bronie pictures looks like a loser saddens me.

They're not nearly as bad as the bronies I've seen.

It may simply be the fact that the Brony community allows (with it's Love and Tolerance stance) those who would otherwise be too ashamed to travel and meet others, a place where they can fulfil the human need of community without fear of ostrization.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Joel was better.

And this seems no different than... well any article bashing anything nerdy. Remember a few months ago when they were interviewing Unwashed neckbeards that Wargamed? Or when they interviewed those same neckbeards about PnP RPGS? Or when they interviewed them for MMOs/Video games in general?

To make their lives seem better, they pick on a group with an "Unusual" (Nerdy) hobby, find the example to best prove their point, and that guy becomes the hobby's posterchild.

What will(or would if anyone cared what Mike Nelson thought, since he has been unimportant since MST3K ended.) bite him in the ass is most of his fans are prolly bronies too.

Not to mention the photo they used for the article wasn't even about the convention in the story. They had to dig up a stock photo from April.

Joel was better.
I assume you mean as host and I agree. Joel created the show and much of the charm in the attitude of the show, especially in the host segments was gone after he left. However, Mike Nelson was head writer from very early on including while Joel was there. The combo of Joel at the helm and Nelson head writing and doing great hilarious appearances in the sketches was fantastic. I watch my Joel MST3K DVDs most of all, much more than the shows after Joel left. If you're a Joel fan, then you must check out www.cinematictitanic.com We've seen Cinematic Titanic live five times and own the DVDs, great stuff.

Not to mention the photo they used for the article wasn't even about the convention in the story. They had to dig up a stock photo from April.
The fact that someone knows this is a reminder of how scary "bronyism" really is to the rest of humanity.

Or the fact I know that might be because I Read The Caption To The Photo That YOU Posted Under It. Or did you not even bother to read what you yourself posted, instead just cherry picking one unfavorable quote and photo to post along side what is actually a rather neutral article?

Scary and getting scarier. Yeah, the article was neutral or even favorable, but not some of the comments here which support Michael Nelson's comment about it.

It is indeed scary that I read your post, and stated facts I found there in back to you, and you did not know how I knew such facts to be scary.

I think I heard September?

Also, they opened up a new box of the blind bags at Walmart, so I rounded out my set of the Mane Six. Went ahead and grabbed the special Pinkie Pie as well. Still want to do a custom Fluttershy to replace the recolored Rainbow Dash version here when I'm feeling less lazy.

It's scary that he read the caption?

In any event, I've only ever met three people who would admit to being bronies in person and (gasp!) they all looked like normal people.

Hell, I barely consider myself a brony, having only watched 4 episodes ever. At this point, I just have the avatar to troll non-Bronies, though I think my trolling masterpiece will be painting my unit of Cryx Soul Hunters and Darragh Wrathe like the six main characters from the show. The nerd rage from serious business Warmachine players will be absolutely delicious.

Only one I've encountered was normal, but every person in these pictures about obsessive bronies look like they just crawled out of the basement for the first time.
I honestly pity them, but I'm also annoyed at them (and neckbeards in other communities as well) because they make the community as a whole look bad to the rest of society.

I guess you could say watching MLP is creepy, but I'm pretty sure a grown man watching teeny boppers on the Disney Channel is several degrees more disturbing.

Well, the pictures are from a convention, and it seems like conventions in general, whether for ponies or comic books or tabletop games seem to bring out the most obsessive and socially awkward people in a given fandom.

Yeah, that's very true. I think the show is great and I even have a couple MLP inspired songs that I listen to, but I don't care about anything (other than 40k maybe) to go to a convention just for it.

Maybe once I get a hot pink Pinkie Pie t-shirt.

Sad they didn't go with Dr Whooves, Timey-wimey makes up for it....A little.

From what i have read in another thread about those cards, Time Turner is really more fitting than you think.
One:
The Doctor is never called "Dr Who" in the series, he is just "The Doctor".
For this reason, it would be wrong to call the pony character "Dr Whooves" anyway.
Two:
When taking an alias in a place, the regular Doctor calls himself "John Smith".
When taking an alias in a place, the ponyversion of the Doctor calls himself "Time Turner", at least in the Dr Whooves & Assistant Fanseries .....

Happier now?

Now i need to know what you here think (again) about a part of the game i'm trying to make:

I plan to make it more obvious that the group in the starter assignments are a kind of a Task Force, probably put together by Inquisitor Twilight.
What would your suggestions for it be, if they were to be (at least more) proper to WH40K? (This is what i am aiming for with this idea).
It is important that all still has Power Armor, so that may require some tweaking of 40K canon anyway.

I have thought of these ideas:
* Kill Team.
* Inquisitorial retinue, Inquisitor Rulebook style rather than WH40K -rules. (The Iron Hoof --> Adeptus Mech, the UltraPony --> Acolyte) This variant do makes me unsure of how to define the Royal Hooves (has Power Hooves, by the way) and the BloodMare (the most agile), though.

If any of you have other suggestions, i'm welcome to hear them, as well.

woo, I'm happy that pon-3 and octavia are now canon, same goes for the others in those cards.

as for bronies being fat neck beards.....I'm not fat and shave regular :? Same goes for the other five bronies that I know. as for war gamers that I know....well' there's a few who might be a bit on the large side.....

as for brassscorpion, It's moments like this when I really wish I didn’t have to share a world with people as ignorant as you. tell me, have you ever met a brony in real life? have you ever seen the show? if the answer to those questions is no then would you kindly take your misinformed opinions somewhere else.

and happy birthday bloodaxe ^.^

I agree. I was really really excited when I heard a rumor that the new season was this summer.

But September is only...... A minimum of 59 days and a Maximum of 88 days away!

We can do it. Maybe. Looking at the second number kinda makes me doubt myself.
