Everything is looking great graven. That build is looking fantastic & it's nice to see paint on the battlewagon. Bravo!

Yeah, well, thought you of all people would appreciate that did you spot the scarab?

Cheers mate! Looks like we're both in a very orky mood just now.

Thanks! Gratuitous butt shot?

I'll even give you a bit of side boob:

Yup, he's got a winch

Viktor von Domm wrote: is the trukk planned to stay mostly black...? or am I just being impatient here?... checkers are always looking cool

Nope, mostly black. They're Goffs, it's what they do. Hence the red and checks for a bit of variety. There will be some variation in the Metals, some corrosion, track and tire muck.

see? there is a problem right there... I read the hitchhikers guide only in german...my fault...so the homage escaped me......
seeing the ogryn servitor I have only one thing that is still a bit troubling me... the big chainsaw arm looks stunning because it sells the convincing image of movement... the bolter arm tho is not really my thing... something about the way a gun and all that moving stuff inside just sticking out of an arm is saying to me: don´t try that at home kids!!!....hmmmm....do you know what I mean...? for orks this is a viable way of going to war... but (ab)humans...

@MT - I live to give!
@SL - nope - hubcap on the battlewagon.
@vik - well that's not his arm, that's using his body cavity to house the hb. It's definitely not a groin gun though... Glad you like the chainsaw though.
@M0rdain - glad you approve!

Thanks gang!

For now, this is done, insofar as I want to get the rest of the crew and fanatics painted most of the way, in situ, and then finish off the whole shebang. Aiming for end of may, which seems reasonable to me. C&C nonetheless sought as ever!

Yes, phone pics are rubbish.

Oh, how I hate checks...

The grime around the tracks will be darkened down, btw.

I hate freehand too...

Simples!

So there we are.

Next up, shockingly, is playing some more 40k - =][= wars on Weds, assuming Mrs G can put up with me being out 2 nights on the trot (Tuesday being my regular gaming night, and tis rpg week, as well as giving the Ordo Borgy squad to its recipient).

Then, back to this and the SoB, as well as gradually building the Ordo Malleus team with the Ogryn Servitor and possibly an Ordo Astartes/Hereticus squad for another friend (he can bloomin' paint them himself, used to be part of the 'Eavy Metal team). Determined to at least get the Simulacra bearers and ideally Celestine done by my birthday (end of June) as that's the general rule with Mrs G (I get my twice-yearly toys from her only if I paint them on time!). Praying to elder gods for a killer death bot.

In unrelated news, have now tried Kobe beef (I fail to see the point in cows that have been allowed to casually chat to Mozart), made Bacon and Eggs cupcakes (wicked tasty), and finally watched excellent documentary about Frank Quietly (still on iPlayer, iirc).

All of which is to avoid the fact that I've been awake since 420am stressed about the seniors final English exams today (they were fine, as it happens) and now the inevitable hell of marking.

Still, keeps me in crack (of the plastic variety, that is).

Later y'all,

@gits I am humbled. My checks still need a lot of work!

@DrH. Cheers, it needed a splash here and there!

@dantay Love. IT!

@pdh always thrilled to get a nod from a master.
And a bit of retro.joy. One of my favourite models of all time with a set of old school gk arms and crazy da mace. He needs a storm bolter but haven't quite figured that out yet.

Either mount it on top, where the cross (comms beacon is, or fore-arm a la Grey Knights should do it.

Or if yuo have space on the 40mm base, a wee servo-skull with a buit in storm bolter?

For this one I'd agree with Kanluwen

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Hmm. Top cumbersome, wrist not quite right.

I normally hate those shields, but I really want it for this dude.

Ah now there's a thought. There's that cherubim dragging a bolter too...

Another thought. A winged daemonic maw with a sb? Very malleus.

Hmm, that sounds like a plan - something similar to the old chaos familiar 'Jaw', minus legs, wings replacing horns, sb in place of tongue? That particular mini would obviously only hold a bolter, but I like the idea.......(...if you're convinced you want to keep the shield )
