It's 4th or 5th from the top on Play if you type in "warroom".

If it's not showing up for you, then it's probably not compatible with your phone or your phone's OS. Go to the Play website to check your compatibility.

Buggy as all hell too, with a garbage list builder.

Me: I'm gonna buy an Errants UA!
Warroom: Sure, which unit would you like to attach it to?
Me: My Errants? No, wait, can I attach it to my Choir?
Warroom: You sure can!
Me: Uh... Ok?

Oh, and apparently Shredders are FA:C now. Sorry Legion.

iBodger was significantly better as a list builder. SIGNIFICANTLY.

Blargh. Apparently doesn't work with the Samsung Galaxy S or S2.

So how does the payment scheme work? I guess you buy the card set for each faction individually?

Weird, my S2 is working perfectly...

The payment scheme is either $6.99 for a faction, or $35 for a game, or $60 for all the cards ever.

Its SHOCKINGLY bad. I will give it a month before I hand over a dime. It made it out the door with out even being tested by anyone at PP this is super dissapointing :(

The UI isn't great. Looks pretty enough, but minor things like the back button on my phone not having any effect, so instead need to use the custom buttons they've put in. Also seems quite slow and clunky

That's because they've made a single version both for Android and iOS rather than program for each seperately.

More importantly, they don't seemed to have tested the Android and Amazon versions properly. They also REALLY need to fix the not able to use the service plan for connection "bug".

I really feel for the Amazon users who were given a test version(by admittance!) that can't connect to the store.

THG and PP screwed the pooch on this release. They were too optimistic about when it would be ready and were too committed to a multi-platform release. They should never have announced a tentative release date until the program was actually ready and, if they needed, should have released it to separate OS' as each version was properly ready.

Then there's the fact that an unpaid person developed a better, more stable program in his spare time and they especially look like they have egg on their faces.

I just loaded it onto my kindle fire.......aaaaannnndddd.......pretty buggy. But I could see where it might prove useful once (if) everything gets ironed out.

The high prices also make the game more cinematic, just like going to the cinema!

Like Kindle getting an actual version and not a test APK?

Also, I'm hearing they've pulled it from Google Play due to how many Android versions and phones it doesn't actually work on.

For something that got delayed by almost 6 months(supposed March release, it's now August), it's a really terrible app. Really bad. I played with it for about five minutes on my iphone before I set it down. I didn't purchase any decks, and tried building a Khador army with just the stuff from Prime(which is included free). Problem is, the app doesn't filter the free cards from ones that you haven't purchased yet. As an experienced player, I didn't have any problems making an army with just units/warjacks from Prime. However, someone new to the game would have issues doing the same, because like I said, there's no filter.

I also found it fairly slow, with a lot of time spent waiting for things to load. For an app intended to be used *during* gameplay, that's not ideal at all. I'm a PP fanboy, but I think they really screwed the pooch on this one. I'd much rather they had used iBodger as the basic model for the app, used the code for it, and then expanded it to add extra functionality. At least iBodger worked.

Used this for a couple of demo games yesterday and frankly even with hiccups here and there (damage drag up and down doesn't work well) the app did what I expected. I was able to look at the cards, both mine and my opponents, I was able to keep damage well and had access to rules references. Yes it's buggy but by no means was it slower than using actual cards or flipping through the rulebook.

I wrote a bit about it here http://www.3forint.com/2012/08/war-room-released.html
But this is pretty sub-standard for a new product release. Especially one that's not all that complicated. Tinkerhouse pretty much drug privateers name through the crapper here as far as app dev is concerned. At least the initial app doesn't cost anything so they got a lot of free beta test reports...

Any review that includes cursing is prett much crap in my opinion. Nothing personal, but it is hard to take people seriously when they cannot write an objective review without cursing.

Not having any real problems on iPhone. Not the most intuitive army builder, but the main selling point for me has been to use it in-game. And it is working pretty well there.

I remember mentioning that developers tend to view the android and amazon marketplaces as of lesser importance when considering development time on multiplatform titles in those gw e-codex threads. swish

And when they say that features he had in his free, made in his spare time program would be too time intensive and cost prohibitive in include in the $60 app.

I love that War Room includes theme forces, but fails to include validation for said theme forces. I saved my dollars and deliberately did *not* spend $60 or even $7 on cards, but from what I've read, the app doesn't in any way whatsoever enforce theme forces. It doesn't restrict your unit choices, doesn't reduce point totals for certain themes, nada.

It also seems that there is currently no way for Android users to receive a refund, should they wish one. Someone had luck contacting Apple and getting their $60 back, but there isn't even a system in place to do similar for Android users.

Something tells me that PP is going to be doing a lot of damage control in the next few weeks.

Any idea how they did that?

You're going to have to be more specific. How they did what? Got a refund from Apple? From what they stated on the PP forums, the user in question emailed Apple with a logical argument/complaint about why he/she would like a refund, and got one.

I really do hope that Privateer and their developer rapidly address the probems with War Room. I'd been waiting, very excitedy, to get the app as soon as it was announced. But this current version is effectively unuseable, even on an iPad. I've tried to create three different armies. One worked, after a lot of waiting. But the next two times I tried, I just get the spinning wheel o' you-have-to-wait, and can't do anything other than cancel.

Not to mention how non-intuitive some of the features are to use (when they even work that is!) iBodger wasn't perfect, but it was better than War Room is now, albeit not as pretty.

Come on, Privateer! You have a great idea here, and a wonderful opportunity! But this app ain't cutting it and you need to get a pair and get it ironed out...

Wow, this is terrible.

I wrote Apple's customer support suggesting that they re-evaluate the approval of this app in their store and remove it until it actually functions. The worst is for some people if they add a paid-for deck, the whole app stops working.

Privateer sh** the bed on this one.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
