if you are willing to put forth the effort to list all the items on ebay yourself I bet it will be cheaper to buy the set and then sell everything than it would be to wait for just the rule book. also you will get your rulebook quicker.
no one knows how well the DA stuff is going to sell, a lot of people dont like the DA markings. The chaos stuff is gonna sell really well. I can see the hellbrute brining in $30-40 for the first few to hit ebay.

Hm. Bummer.
Why freaking Dark Angels? Not a fan of giant feather things everywhere. Too bad they didn't go with Imperial Fists, they already did DA with Piscina.
Chaos stuff looks okay. Not a fan of the back of the hellbrute thing, but the front's okay. I like the lord, but the pose looks a little too static. Chosen are nice. Cultists are alright I guess. I guess they'd work, but the heads look too similar.
I was kinda looking forward to this release but it's not really that exciting to me. Oh well, to each his own. I've still got plenty of Orks and Space Marines to build out and paint.

When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

The simple answer.... DA have a different Dex then the IF who use the Vanilla codex like the Ultrasmurfs do. So they get SM players to shell out for another dex potentially and then redue it in a few months

Yeah I guess. It seems like a strange thing to do. I mean I guess I sure can't speak for the whole 40k gaming realm, but it seems like DA models are pretty specific. I know that these could be converted, but straight marines would be more easily used to represent other chapters. I don't know a lot of people itching to start a DA army either.
Now Chaos was a good idea. But I'd have rather seen guard. I don't need another termy squad, tactical squad (Especially with the suicidal plasmas - I suck at dice), or a librarian, etc.
Also, the cultists just don't work for me. There's like five heads in each ten man squad and the heavy weapons are almost exactly the same. I'm not a new gamer, so I look to these as a starting point to go for a new army. But I don't want a DA army, and as far as the chaos stuff, well, I think I could pick up better models to start with. Just me though. Seems like a lot of folks are digging this boxed set.
