You've definitely painted enough minis lately to have one Barzam, you've just got that whole 'bit of everything' approach

I should finish the dungron saga orcs some time, just 2 more mawbeasts, either 3 or 6 goblins and six more orcs. Just finish 4 heroes after that and i could actually set up a game. Meh, some time.

So my loose plan for the second wave is the mor/great/ax horde, a regiment/horde of chariots or fight wagons, a regiment/troop(s) of skulks potentially, and then three fun somethings.

The three somethings are kinda nebulous on purpose. Whatever keeps me motivated. May get a few bones trolls to go with the ones I have and do two more troll regiments, stone and marsh to go with hill(or whatever you'd call standard mantic trolls) and a troll character/hero. May figure something else out entirely, I do have a second giant though he came defective in the box with three arms and one leg. But if I'm up to sculpting a giant boot or two...

Heroes as monthly goals are last resorts, though ideally I'll manage to get at least one (if not two) flaggers and maybe a war drum or two.

We'll see what goes on.

Couple more photos of just the dungeon saga orcs and then all the loose minis for DnD or skirmish etc.

I think that's just around 1000 pts so I am going to aim to double it to 2000 points by the end of the year.

Sounds like an excellent plan. It will be a fine army to face. Eventually we will have to meet on the field of battle.

Love the group shots, really brings all of the effort you have put in this year into stark focus. Thats a lot of mini's in a fairly short space of time. Very jealous of your terrain setup up as well, it looks incredible.

Thanks guys

Put a little effort in on the giant but he's still got quite a ways to go. Gonna bother with touchups and all that since he's all on his own and expected to draw attention. Still keeping the scheme similar to the orcs and pretty plain. I realize I could go crazy painting his pants up as a mishmash of random stuff like boat sails, carnival tent material, picnic blankets etc... but I'm just gonna keep him simple and serious.

Really need to get onto cleaning up the next crop of orcs too while I'm at it.

Yeah that was totally in the directions but I'm a lazy punk.

Happy Father's day to whom it applies, by the way.

Oh, also. I hope you and your orc lust are all happy. You know what happens when you have orcs? You gotta have dwarfs to keep them in check or they'll overrun the whole display area. So yeah now I have to make a dwarf army. You punks. Worse yet I'm quite a big fan of R.A. Salvatore's Drizz't books and I'd just have to make a pseudo-not Clan Battlehammer which would mean conversions. Sigh. What I let you people talk me into. Will have to be dwarf fort scenery, and not even really functional...just to go in the corners and look good. Fiends. And then I'll have to dig through the units and find one that's suitably badass to represent the Companions of the Hall, the pseudo-official name for Team Drizz't. Basically taking a page from my heroic party regiments, just about 4-6 dudes on the base but with extra scenery or lots of room for them to have suitably dynamic poses. Of course the dwarf should almost be off on his own leading the army itself...and the woman has either an artillery grade magic bow or is a wizard pending timeframe in the series... I dunno the steam tank equivalent certainly has the appropriate stats but it's awful slow... anyway that's just one fugging unit I have to do all of this thinking about. You currs. And THEN I'll have to have battle ragers. Kind of like berserkers but instead of being half nekkid and tattooed they'll be covered in segmented plate armor with spikes and sharp ridges everywhere they'll go. Complete with upwards of two feet of helmet spikes. Yeah. They don't make those people, I'm gonna have to convert my own. I hope you guys and all of your Orc Lust are happy. My poor Infinity pile.

No shame for your orc lust huh? Nothing to say, ehh?

On another note I ay or may not have ordered 11 giant gorillas to make a TNT mutant warband out of. Twice the starting points worth of figures and only 16 dollars or so. Damn MM and TNT.

Took advantage of Miniature Market's gorilla sale, huh? I saw those prices and, I have to admit, I was very tempted. Thankfully, I don't need gorillas, so I was able to resist.

Yeah. Was gonna pass but instead got 3 of them =/ TNT is a pretty big enabler because it's so easy to make up a story for why any given model fits the setting.

I already painted three of these for a buddy a while back so I dunno if I'm exactly terribly enthusiastic about owning 9 of my own, but I think doing some gear swaps and post-apocafying will help keep the interest going. At some point. These guys are sitting on a Hold Order at MM with some other stuff I shouldn't have bought and haven't bothered to mention yet Good chance they won't be with me for weeks but that's ok as I've still got loads of orcs to work on.

I saw them as well and almost pulled the trigger. Thank God I don't play the DC miniature game as I would have a Grod and gorilla army by now . Planet of the apes or Congo style force?

Neither really? I'm just gonna use the Ape X as their leader. Depending on comparative size he may or may not share the Big rule (40 mm bases, tougher, etc) and may wind up being a potent psychic instead. I figure They were an experiment gone wrong or gone sideways after the bombs fell. They're a bit more like the preservers (brotherhood in fallout) in that they want to unearth more about their history and why they were created etc, but they're still pretty thuggish. Probably by necessity, I mean I doubt many wastelanders want to deal openly with a gang of giant gorilla monsters.

Now a question out of nowhere.... below you'll see a few steel warriors. I want to do a demo kit for deadzone 2.0 so I need to paint those guys. Don't want to repaint anything so first try has to work, I've got 50 of these be locking myself into a scheme for. So the off color and soft Armor parts will be medium-dark grey. Guns black. Main armor though? Either light tan/broen kinds like the orc cloth color but maybe a different slightly more brown color, the dark green that I've used for orc skin/shasvastii/USARF armor, or a grey color that starts with dark grey and highlights up towards white with heavy drybrushing.

Thoughts?

Your Enforcers are off-white, right? I say go for the green to keep them from looking too samey.

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Did you get a Helfather? If you did, you could paint them to match him. Or, you could try going flashy and do a yellow or orange scheme?

I have one but he will conform to the main scheme I think. And I tried yellow/orange and didn't really like it (old steel warriors waaaay back towards beginning f thread).

Ckig the enforcers are off white, the space dwarfs will be slightly master chiefy.

I'd go dark grey the highlight up. Forgefathers supposedly like to mine things, like whole planets, so I would think less vegetation colors and more rock and dirt colors. Though orange colors for scope and eye lenses would be neat and harken back to the molten metal color.

Well been busy round here, kinda!

So dwarf army huh! need one of these for scenery then.....

hk1x1 has done an amazing job on that and you need to buy at least 10 to line an avenue for scenery.

And shiny green obviously.

And I want pics of the Gorillas.

And ................i forgot what "and"....
