So, I got my copy of DV (finally) and there were some casting issues, the Chaos Lord's shoulder pad on the plasma gun is just a blob of plastic bubbled off, and the tips of the swords from the same sprue (the Lord's and the ccw cultist leader's) dont have the tip cast at all, the blades are just rounded off 2/3 of the way.

If I call Customer Support will they actually replace the parts? Ive had a mispacked paint pot replaced, but never models, especially from a new set

Yes. They'll either ask you to send models back for replacement, or simply send you either the whole frame if enough is damaged or specific parts if it's only a few. You shouldn't have any issues, their Customer Service team is pretty much the best.

As an aside - people forget plastic miscasts do happen. Not as often, enough to catch 99% at QA. A release as big as this is going to have some get through.

Pushing the parts of the helbrute is a bitch to get to fit right.

And the spikes hurt my hands.

Less spikes, GW.

The helbrute is chaos. It needs MOAR spikes!

Seriously though, if they fit too tight, try some discreet filing, or even use pliers (with a foam grip to protect the model ) to push the pieces in.

my hellbrute also had miscasts, the underside of the hand attached to the back half had no teeth, and didn't fill the whole space of the upper hand, and the rest of the arm had no pole to attach the other arm onto it

I didn't notice the bad pegs on the hellbrtue until after the fact I have it soaking in Super Clean atm I'm hoping the super glue will come undone.

I didn't have any issues with the Helbrute other than (like the Chosen) so many tiny spikes made my fingers ache afterwards.

The models I had issues with were, ironically, the most simple. The Chaos Lords sword just didn't want to fit on the peg - in fact, after a few seconds of serious effort, I saw the peg was 'peeling' back, so the hole on the sword pard was too small for the peg. I just clipped the peg off and superglued it.

And some of the autogun cultists. feth me they made the peg angles awkward on a couple of them, the pressure you need to exert to get the peg to slot in is not in any logical direction for holding the model and pushing the parts together.

I have noticed some silly pegging angels, specifically with the Lord (sword arm) and Hellbrute. I would say that the Hellbrute, at least for me, couldn't be considered as a snap fit model. By this I mean you'd have to handle the thing with care if you wanted to play your average game with it, lest if fall apart on you (...no...don't count the bits as Chaos Spawn). The sprues whilst "revolutionary" (¬¬) in how tight the pieces are together, are a lot harder to get the parts off of than a conventional sprue. I noticed that the plastic is harder than you'd normally find with GW products (perhaps for durability, or maybe its just their new plastic recipe), but that definately didn't aid in getting those incredibly fidly bits off (...wtf, the top of a chosen's head attached to an arm, why?).

I would say though the Cultists are easy convert (if everything else is a little hemmed in), with things like their heads not being obscured for cutting, etc, so they should be easy to convert for beginners. The guns however are only interchangeable with Imperial Guard lasguns due to having hands molded onto them. That is unless you have some spare hands around, or are willing to sculpt news ones. Meh, with looking to get 80 of those guys (...GW better make a plastic kit...), I'll probably be chopping up those guys for a while to come. =P

GW has friendly customer service. Give them a call and send them pictures and if your lucky they might send you a whole new sprue
