Looks like FW and GW's "what's new today" had a little communication problem and GW put up news about an upcoming magma dragon instead of today's fire elemental release in the FW newsletter.

way better than the fire elemental. I'm not entirely convinced though, I need to see more shots of it. I like the squat, muscly nature of it, but - love a dragon as I do - I have no idea how I'd paint it...
At least it's more representative of the illustration in Monstrous Arcanum (unlike the fire elemental).

Holy crap it's so adorable.

Okay, I'll say this much, I do like it a little bit better than the anorexic dragons they usually do, but in my opinion it's probably just a little too "squat".

Holy gak you're right, I didn't notice until I looked at it again but it kinda looks like a snapping turtle.

I guess I'll be the first to flat out say it-I dislike it. The detail looks kinda blah, the raised arm/ front leg thing looks poorly built and the wrist/ankle areas look bad too. I remember playing with dinosaur toys from when I was 3 that look like they have the same detail. And those were only about $5-$10 a piece. Avoiding this model like the plague.

I quite like it as a pose to the ugly fire elemental. Sure it is pretty chunky and the wings do seem a little small but I quite like the bulk it has about it, seems very reptilian.

I think i'd paint it up to look like an Avatar. All molten and glowing.

I agree with timetowaste85, i do not like what I'm seeing. It looks like a winged chick crossed with a spined lizard.

Looking at it closer I absolutely agree that the raised leg looks really bad.

Dunno. I think it looks somewhat confused.

If they've wanted a squat dragon, I think they should have stayed away from the wings and the beak, or at least from wings that look like they are supposed to be functional.

If they've wanted a winged dragon with beak, they should've gone a slimmer, more "bird-like" direction by and large.

Does it fly? I mean those wings would have problems with a body half the size but as it stands its just another pointless concept.

Seems like it would take a lot of liquid greenstuff to fill those gaps and make it smooth. Otherwise its ok.
