Hello all, so I'm trying to get my Viking IG army ordered, and I need a model for a certain character: Ingrid Warborn. I'm thinking of her appearance as that of a Valkyrie, but I just can't find the right model to represent her. her backstory is that she is a mercenary who's come to work for the main character because she has feelings for him (sort of, she grew up alone in the woods, he's the first person that ever did anything nice to her, so her feelings are a bit skewed) here's the rub: I play at a GW store, so the model either needs to be GW or be convertible to be OK in GW stores. has anyone seen any Valkyrie or Shield Maiden models that I could use for her?

I'm not sure there's all that much of that within the GW range. Probably one of the closest things will be converting a SoB.
Perhaps this one or something. Would need some work.

do they let you use LotR models outside LotR games? because I did a quick Google of "shieldmaiden" and up pops Eowyn. the model is honestly prefect for a viking theme (Viking, Saxons, not much difference in appearance) all I'd need to do was give her a bolt pistol in a holster and she'd make a prefect Lord Commissar.

Ah, yes they do. Forgot about the range.

Trade off is they can't take pictures of your conversion.

You can also try using the maidens in the Bretonnian range, in Warhammer Fantasy.

I would but they're definitely too lady-like, not the character I'm looking for at all. she's more the rough and tough drink a space wolf under the table type than the "oh I broke a nail" type.
this is the kind of character she is.

yea but they're not viking looking enough. although my local GW answered my question on Eowyn, they can take pics for the facebook page, which is about as far as my models will ever go up the GW food chain.

There's also the old female commissar GW made several years ago. Maybe too expensive to get, though. You can see some pics in this thread:
