So, while I was driving about for my job, I swung by a gas station to pick up some lunch and gas. As I was waiting in line, I noticed this next to the cash register...



My immediate thought was I wonder what would happen if I downed the whole thing in one go. I've taken down a monster bfc in one sitting, and I drink energy drinks for the flavor instead of the energy, because it doesn't really effect me that much.

So would you every try something like this? What's your opinions on energy drinks?

Energy drinks are a completely unnecessary sugar and caffeine drink that are unfortunately marketed as somehow a good thing for people to drink.

I use the 5 hours or my beloved Red Bull when I need a brain booster... I'd avoid that thing like the plague.

They feth with your body, and although they cause no serious damage, their effects don't usually justify the price or taste

Redbull is alright if you have nothing else to mix with vodka and tequila.

I didn't think you were allowed proper Redbull in the states, in case you get the shakes while driving pick ups and shooting' n stuff?

Meh. If I needed more energy I would graft on extra adrenal glands onto my body, ala Tyranids. Or craft a cocktail of pure caffine, adrenaline and Doritos.

Bleh, redbull is so...bland.

I'm always up for a monster green or blue. There's an energy drink that tastes like fruit punch...can't remember what it was called though. Extra sweet.

There was one time I went to a food taste test survey and it was energy drinks. Had this one that tasted like acid, sugar, and sunkist. Best energy drink I've ever had. However it was in shot form, and I've never seen a drink that matches what I tried that day.

Idk, I know they're terrible for you, and I know if i drink enough I'll get sick (had a case of the fruity monsters that needed to go, so i tried getting rid of them quickly over the course of a week. Yeahhhh never doing that again), but some days I just feel like drinking some acid.

When revising for my exams, I concocted a mixture of tea (just because I bloody love tea), Pro-Plus, and Red Bull. Certainly an interesting combination, it probably would have either killed me or made me immortal. But I don't get the hype about these drinks, they perk you up a bit, but you see people who drink them daily; surely they should just get more sleep rather than pumping themselves full of chemicals.

Red Bull is okay, better with Jaegermeister.

Had a half a can of a energy drink once. Not sure what the brand was, but about 20 minutes or so later, thought I was going to have a heart attack. Sweating, vision was weird, rocking back and forth, heart was pounding. WTF do they put in those things? LSD?

i just stick with simple coffee, thanks. *cuddles*

I'm not sure I understand the neptune reference but caffeine pills make me uneasy. It's too easy to overdose.

He's lord of the oceans, and earthquakes hence the shaking...
the rough estimation is around 1 pill=cup of coffee. It's more of a knowing one's limits and not being stupid

Red Bull and vodka makes quite a decent cocktail if you're out dancing or otherwise want some caffeine to offset the central nervous system depressant effect of the alcohol. Various flavored vodkas add variety, too.

Keep the intake moderate, though, and don't do it too often.

I'll admit--I'm borderline hooked on this;




No Carb/No sugar--which is really the awful part of a Monster. IIRC Monster drinks have slightly more content than coffee (per ounce I think the same or less--just more in a can than a typical cup)

Just saw an add for 5 hour energy in which doctors are touting its benifits

I'd rather take proplus than endure that horrid taste and tonnes of sugar. Of course being an insulin dependant diabetic I get 'high' in a different sort of way!

No taste to pills compared to Monster though...

Considering I've downed 3 Monsters in a few hours I'd probably try one of the op's drinks. (I dare not think about what 3 of those things did to my insides though)

I like to avoid stimulants as much as possible, so... I definitely would not.

Love me some depressants though.

Caffeine does nothing to me. I have drunk all sorts over the years and many, many coffees but it makes no difference to me whatsoever.

I drink tea. Tea works.

Coffee is fine for me, I used to drink monster etc. but not any more, still occasionally drink Mountain Dew when it's going cheap
