So, really... it's kind of a waste... all that fire power but most of it can only hit one target *IF* all the turrets can see it, which is unlikely. PoMS can only fire one gun if I remember correctly... or is it different for Apoc.

Cool vehicle though, even if silly... I heartily approve.

No, it's no different in Apoc... the Apoc rules only add "Destroyer" strength weapons, Gargantuan Creatures and Super-heavies. It doesn't change the Defensive weapons rules in any way iirc.

According to the 40K rules, all guns can hit something in front of the tank. That's because you ignore what the sponsons can ACTUALLY point at, and use the sponson rules in the rulebook, which state that they have about a 190' arc of fire.

And, yes. It *IS* a silly tank. But, really folks. We have giant walkers and magic. POMS can still only take one of the weapons and do something else with it, but that something else is still a twin-linked Lascannon. Also, you can upgrade the vehicle to have a pintle-mounted Storm-Bolter and/or an HK. For maximum silly.

I am not modeling maximum silly.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Funny, I almost made the same conversion for you. I actually have one nib (the whole kit from the last apoc release). It'll be interesting to both be doing a gms version of our primary armies. I like the choice given the glued front hatch.

Power of the machine spirit- It is the tank's...soul (for want of a better word and this fits in with silly) taking control of its own weapon...

SM codex (pg81) wrote:
The interface between Land Raider's machine spirit and it's fire control mechanisms allow the crew to target with unnering accuracy.

A land raider can fire one more weapon than would normall be permitted. In addition, this weapon can be fired at a different target unit to any other weapons, subject to the normal rules for shooting.

IIRC in the previous codex POTMS was actually fired at BS 2 to show that it didn't have some super-dooper-marine-shooter behind the sights...

ah cheers IM. the auto description didn't bring that one up.

Yeah the machine spirit these days is an additional weapon. which is infinitely better imo. In other rules things, I'm so glad improved ceramite has become rarer as well as immunity to melta weapons.

YES! TSOALR, you should make either the version with a power plant pulled behind it or the one that had all the demolisher cannons sticking out the front hatch...

I just cracked open a can of Citadel Dark Angles Green spraypaint from, oh, A DECADE AGO, and it fired up JUST FINE, solid paint, solid coat.

I really, REALLY miss GW's ultra-high-quality days.

You can also put a pintle-mounted storm bolter on it. Which, if I recall an earlier thrad on the issue, made the tank totally OP.

Some WiP shots. Man, my freehand sucks nowadays. Various color basecoats down, some freehand work on the tank, good coat on the Bleached Bone, getting there on the red. Much, much more work to do.

Not a worry, WM. I just had some time, and I've found that when I do GMS/trades/etc I should do them as fast as possible, so I don't forget/lose track.
