only the one above...the other one is done for... so i wont ruin fresh rivets on a wasted sheep... and rawson is the one to aply rivets to the living...me i only do it to your shoes or other ppes bum...not sheeps... in fact what i really do is keep away from ever trying to rivet a sheep... somehow that would make me cringe... and we can´t have that... would only create a peeline with them rivets all going outa line...there is such a thing called precision and stly e of course too.... so there are two things... precision and style..and don´t let me begin on ethics...as this would make it three already and three is a crowd.... and that is by parliamt statues not permited.....

Well, I'm back from Sweden and also have my laptop back form the shop (the shop being my buddy who is wicked smart with computers and hooks me up for free). So, here's what I've been working on:



New battle cannons in place, and I think they turned out rather well. I'd like to work on these tanks for a while and get them finished, but that means coming up with some color choices for a few things.

1) Fuel Tanks. I'm thinking the same khaki color with boltgun trim, but I'm open to ideas.
2) Sponson Heavy Bolters. Could do all boltgun, but I think that would be a bit drab. Maybe Khaki with some Vostroyan red stripes? (and boltgun trim, of course)
3) Speaking of Vostroyan red stripes: Hull, turret, or both?
4) Lascannon recoil thingy. It's currently black, and I have no ideas. So far all of my ideas have included khaki, so maybe some more of that...
5) Track trim: currently a black line on the side of the tanks. Again with the no ideas thing...
6) Stowage tarp (you can see it on the top tank on the rear of the left trackguard). I'm thinking either olive drab or khaki with some washes.

Any input here would be most appreciated.

I've still got the rivet repairs to make, but I cleaned the rest of them up a lot today. I'm pretty happy with how the weathering turned out on the base for my commander. I think I'll try that technique again on the twins when we get to that point. I think the micron pen will also come in handy with doing some unit markings, names, and such.

They look really good, Rawson. And you have some good ideas there. I would suggest;
1. Oil tanks; same colour as rest of tank but with boltgun metal straps to hold them in place
2. Boltguns: khaki with red stripes and a brass trim
3. lascannon recoild buffer (or damper, if you prefer) leave it black but paint a line of brass around each ring
4. track trim: red
5. turrets and hulls: vostroyan red numbering and lettering with a mix of regimental/squadron/troop markings (plenty of references for these online especially from WWII. Make them big and bold, easy enough to be seen through the fog of battle from inside a tank)
6: weathering (which I know you wll be planning on doing) particularly around the hatches where the crew enter and exit the tank. Also around the engine hatches and fuel tanks from the crew carrying out maintenance and refueling
7: personal gear: each vehicle crew will stow their gear differently (you've started that already by having a hammer stowed on one vehicle on the same place another has it's shovel) so mix it up a little, personalise each vehicle (I'm planning on doing something similar with my Elysian STYLED Sentinels....but don't know what yet

only thing i could add is an air recognition sign on the tracks cover... because iirc you too have a flyer.... so that would make sense...

maybe add then a thin highlight of gold to the numbers for a bit of poshness that would suit the vostroyans

and did i say the tanks look gorgeous...well... they do^^

loving the tanks rawson, especialy new barrels! and i would do what i stated before and what ^ just said, add an air recognition sign, like the flag on santa not claus's blog

tho i think a banner/flag would be a nice addition i can´t see a place big enough for that...also if the PVA soaked tissue would be used as a methide... it´s bumpiness would ruin this stainless flat surface of the tank...which i really like here...i really like the creaminess of that color...

you gotta good point there but i think that the flag would give a nice place to add some more colors, like more red

that is true... he could do an actual free hanging banner... billowing due to the wind... how about that?...

which is in fact the best surface to a tank i have ever seen... and no mistake...so i am biased a bit to let him break it up...or weather or number it ...

theres no doubt that its a great color, but if it was left plain the tank would seem unrealistic

Lots of real work to do today, so probably not a lot of warhammering, but we'll see.
