It'll be more obvious when its painted - its a candle with a candle holder and a flame. you can't quite see the candle holder from this angle

Love it weets, packed full of character! I'd love to try some stuff like that, maybe I should expand on my card terrain, speaking of which, did I spy a cardboard base?

The DE looks good too although I completely understand not wanting to revisit them, very dodgy sculpts.

Its all cardboard underneath yep. I've begun painting now - might be done later and then its time for some glamour shots.

Next on the dungeon furniture agenda? I could make barrels, or a throne, maybe an alter or a torture rack? A bed maybe for the sorcerer to sleep in (everyone else is taking the floor).

Are you really getting that desperate for money...

That all sounds good, but don't forget the treasure chests... and a weapons rack... just re-make all the furniture that came in Heroquest and that'll be grand.

Not barrels unless they are open and have something cool inside them.

Really, every dungeon terrain company already makes barrels so I would like to see Weety do something outside the box...erm...barrel.

Perhaps a decorative fireplace mantel?

Something like this but by Weety.

Interestingly enough I have made an ungulate type skull - all I need to do is drill holes and add horns or antlers and mount it above a fireplace!

Busy harvesting the allotment today so no paint yet. We have a bag of onions, two pumpkins, courgettes and a sack of runner beans just from todays harvest. 5 Massive pumpkins up there being left to get bigger! Also picked a kilo of blackberries for the wine. A fine harvest. Need to drink lots of snakebite on ice now.

the cupboard is all finished. Also got some photos of dwarves having a drink with the sorcerer in his chambers. I don't know why they would have a drink with the evil chaos sorcerer, maybe he tricked them using magic and is getting them drunk so he can write "tw*t" on their foreheads in magic ink and shackle them to a stagecoach.

Also behold the dungeon playset in its ever growing glory.

And Dwarves will drink with anyone (except Greenskins). They don't really need a reason.

so we've established that a good dungeon set needs a fireplace, a torture rack, treasure chests, barrels with stuff in them, a sacrificial alter and a big old sarcophagus.

I'd also like to do backdrop walls for the big room - just 2 sides in an L shape. With shields on the wall maybe.

Brilliant set you're building up here, weets. A wall or two is a good idea for a backdrop. I'm guessing this is going to be the staging ground for many future photos?

Very nice Weets. I love the way all the bits and pieces come together to form a scene. You get those walls done and it'll be a fantastic back-drop for future miniature photography!

Wow. That looks excellent. Good job, Weets. In addition to the shields, the walls could use the aforementioned animal skulls or heads also.

Vallhalla probably meant Dr Seuss, but in defense of my geek rep here is the Wikipedia article on what I thought he meant:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_races_and_species_in_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy#Perfectly_Normal_Beast

The Perfectly Normal Beasts are a species that migrate across the Anhondo Plain on Lamuella twice a year (one direction in the spring then back again in the autumn). The migration takes about 8 to 9 days during which time they form a solid mass. They appear from thin air at one end of the plain then disappear again at the other. They are called Perfectly Normal Beasts because naming them normalizes the event of their migration and keeps people from worrying about its cause. It is likely that the Domain of the King was built to take advantage of this odd, mile-wide gap in the bi-yearly migration, situated as it is on a rather nice stretch of land that would otherwise be badly trampled every now and then (or, the space-time warp was specifically manipulated by the Domain's original builder as a matter of convenience).

The local Lamuellans capture the beasts and kill them for their meat. The method uses similar techniques to a matador but also requires use of the Pikka Birds to get their attention. The best of the meat is eaten straight away while the rest is salted and stored for consumption until the next migration. It was consumed on its own until the arrival of the Sandwich Maker and is now always placed between two slices of bread.

Can do graven - they will have to be quite shallow pit traps. I did think about making one dungeon section raised up on polystyrene so I can cut into it and make a snake/spike/lava pit with a rope bridge over.

Thanks! It isn't actually my birthday till sunday and we are still waiting on fallout NV ultimate to arrive. Thanks for the tip. I will shoot them with magic bullets. That'll learn em.

I'm having a night off miniature painting. I'm trolling facebook's suggested posts instead. Hours of vicious hate filled fun. Advertising makes me so angry when they force it on me like that.

And to qualify my earlier post, I meant that I thought it would be funny to have a chamber for death by snu-snu in the torture chamber. Maybe not the most effective torture chamber out there.

Lol. Snu-snu.

I got tired of trolling and did something constructive. This has been slowly growing behind the scenes layer by layer. Can you see where I'm going with it? The sword's going to be the hard part. Tempting to carve the sword out of sprue. I intend to become good at this so I need to push myself.
