Hey there guys, recently I've been working on converting / Scratch building a Sisters army.
Back in the day of 3rd edition, i ran an army of Sisters with GK allies, but as time went on my interest in the hobby faded. I eventually sold my force on eBay. A few years on, I'm back in the thick of the hobby, and after producing a 6000ish point force of lightly converted Space wolves, I've decided to return to my roots and remake my sisters army of old.
My favorite part of the hobby is the modelling, i love making my models stand out. Unfortunately as we all know games workshops range of sisters mini's are made entirely of metal; not very conversion friendly :(. I decided to go searching for a more convertible alternative, and stumbled upon this thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/345483.page
Space Corsairs green stuff work is amazing, and what particularly piqued my interest were his female marines. I promptly ordered enough bits to make 25 battle sister models from Meow Meow Mini's. Although Space Corsairs female marine legs and pauldrons are fantastic, i really wanted to make my sisters look like the classic metal sisters, and so here is the part configuration I went with:
Heads:
Combo of;
DE female wyche heads
Meow Meow Minis galactic chevaliers bare heads
Meow Meow Minis galactic chevaliers siren pattern helms
Torso's
Meow Meow Minis Galactic Chevaliers Siren Pattern Winged Skull Torsos
Arms
Combo of;
Scout Bolter/ CCW/ BP Arms
DE wyche arms
Pauldrons
Lizardmen saurus warrior shoulder pads
Legs
DE Kabalite Warrior Legs
Backpacks
Grey Knight Strike Squad Backpacks
Robes
Custom Greenstuff
I also added some purity seals and whatnot.
Heres a couple of pics, ill post some more stuff in a few days. Ill show you my seraphim and Ecclesiarchy Zealots (Guardsmen) that I've been working on as well as a couple of my army list idea's for some feedback.
Thanks guys, until next time.

Neat conversions! Certainly better than the current GW stock of sisters.
It's nice to see that MeowMeow bits used here. Wasn't sure of their quality before this.

Wow, this is one of the few Sisters of Battle projects I've really liked. I like your approach to them too. The Space Marine bolters are still a little too big for them, but the Scout arms was probably a good compromise.
Can you provide some single model pics with better angles? I'd be curious to see how the proportions work out.

These are fantastic , thinking how to incorporate the ideas into my new Viking IG (so not going to be able to play these in a GW store)..
Only thing I would change is the spikes , not a fan , but thats a personal preferance , I cant fault you on the ideas...

Here's my 5 man seraphim unit.
I used similar parts to the battle sisters in addition to sanguinary guard wings and DE scourge legs. not 100% happy with how a couple of the bolt pistols turned out, seem a little too big. Just finished greenstuffing my first one today, check it out:

Yeah I've thought about anvil, bought a lot of capes and alternate heads from them, they're great. How big are their guns in comparison to standard bolters/bolt pistols?
Forgot to mention as well, the greenstuffed seraphim and the butchy looking one have hand flamers/inferno pistols, converted from Wyche pistols.

Hey guys, been hard at work greenstuffing today. My second battle sister squad is well on its way, just waiting on some lizardmen shoulders in the mail.
I've also ordered enough parts for another 10 sisters, another 5 seraphim and finally 10 dominions. check out some progress pics:
Down the bottom ive also put in some shots of my magnetized sisters. These 2 can mix and match there special weapons between Melta guns, Flamers, Heavy Bolters, Heavy Flamers or Multi-melta's. Automatically Appended Next Post: On another note, i have a tournament coming up in around a month. I was planning to bring my wolfies but it looks like i may have my sisters ready in time, and hopefully my conversions will earn me some points in the hobby side of the tourny. This is my current 1500 list for sisters (with guard allies).
Let me know what you guys think:
1500 pts - Sisters of Battle Roster
Total Roster Cost: 1500
HQ: Saint Celestine (1#, 115 pts)
1 Saint Celestine, 115 pts
HQ: Uriah Jacobus, Protector of the Faith (1#, 90 pts)
1 Uriah Jacobus, Protector of the Faith, 90 pts
Troops: Battle Sister Squad (11#, 170 pts)
9 Battle Sister Squad, 130 pts = 9 * 12 (base cost 12) + Flamer x2 10 + Sister Superior 12
1 Rhino, 35 pts
Troops: Battle Sister Squad (10#, 140 pts)
9 Battle Sister Squad, 135 pts = 9 * 12 (base cost 12) + Flamer x1 5 + Multi-melta 10 + Sister Superior 12
Fast Attack: Dominion Squad (6#, 180 pts)
4 Dominion Squad, 90 pts = 4 * 13 (base cost 13) + Meltagun x2 20 + Dominion Superior 28
1 Dominion Superior, 10 pts = (base cost 0 + Combi-Meltagun x1 10)
1 Immolator, 80 pts = (base cost 65 + Twin-Linked Multi-melta 15)
Heavy Support: Retributor Squad (5#, 80 pts)
4 Retributor Squad, 75 pts = 4 * 12 (base cost 12) + Heavy Bolter x3 15 + Retributor Superior 12
Heavy Support: Exorcist (1#, 135 pts)
1 Exorcist, 135 pts
HQ: Company Command Squad (5#, 50 pts)
4 Company Command Squad (HQ) [Guard], 24 pts = 4 * 6
1 Company Commander [Guard], 26 pts
Troops: Infantry Platoon (35#, 210 pts)
1 Infantry Platoon (Troops) [Guard], 0 pts
4 Platoon Command Squad [Guard], 24 pts = 4 * 6
1 Platoon Commander [Guard], 6 pts
7 Infantry Squad [Guard], 35 pts = 7 * 5
1 Heavy Weapons Team [Guard], 20 pts = (base cost 10 + Autocannon 10)
1 Sergeant [Guard], 5 pts
7 Infantry Squad [Guard], 35 pts = 7 * 5
1 Heavy Weapons Team [Guard], 20 pts = (base cost 10 + Autocannon 10)
1 Sergeant [Guard], 5 pts
7 Infantry Squad [Guard], 35 pts = 7 * 5
1 Heavy Weapons Team [Guard], 20 pts = (base cost 10 + Autocannon 10)
1 Sergeant [Guard], 5 pts
: Aegis Defence Lines (1#, 50 pts)
1 Aegis Defence Lines [Guard], 50 pts
Fast Attack: Vendetta Gunship Squadron (1#, 130 pts)
1 Vendetta Gunship Squadron (Fast) [Guard], 0 pts
1 Vendetta [Guard], 130 pts
Heavy Support: Leman Russ Squadron (1#, 150 pts)
1 Leman Russ Squadron (Heavy) [Guard], 0 pts
1 Leman Russ Battle Tank [Guard], 150 pts
The plan would be to have jacobus in the 30 man blob behind the aegis line, giving all the guard 4+/2+ cover with 5+ FNP and provide anti light armor support with their autocannons. Retributors will be close by to provide some rending heavy bolters and the Leman Rusky/Exorcist will chill back and take pot shots at heavy infantry and medium armor.
Celestine will join a sister squad and footslog it up, passing on her hopefully good warlord trait and provide a fearless scoring unit. Other sisters will rhino up and hold another objective.
Dominions will scout 12, then move 6. disembark 6 and blow something up. Alternatively, if i don't get the first turn they will probably outflank.
Vendetta is fairly self explanatory, anti air and anti armour.

Hey guys, as promised im back. Progress has been a little slow recently, work and a little game called halo 4 have slowed me down a bit. Heres a few pics of what I've been up to:
My zealots, made from kit bashed empire flags and cadian IG are finished. I represented grenade launcher minis as sort of arco flagellant, which have been cybernetically altered to attach a grenade launcher to their left arms. Sergeants were built to look like priests, with a long poled chain sword and flaming heads. Finally i used dark elf repeater bolt throwers to represent autocannon heavy weapons teams, i still need to add a few touches to make them look more ecclesiarchal. Also, every zealot has some sort of scroll or book on their bodies, mostly backs. There are 30 in total and will be led by uriah jacobus, my platoon sister superior and company commander (krynov model).

In other news my St. Celestine model finally arrived, i added some scourge wings to her to make her look more like an angel. Also decided to add fire pyres ontop of all superior heads from now on.
I have finished my first objective marker that doubles as a faith point counter. The mini is from hasslefree mini's and with some attached scourge wings. This was painted by my girlfriend!

Got some more pics guys, finished my exorcist, dominion squad, 4 azdditional seraphims with their superior as well as my version of sly marbo; Samus Marbo, she rolls into a ball and drops a str 8 ap2 power bomb then fires her wave beam to wound on a 2+ .
Also added a female version of jacobus, she is based off of the warmachine merc ashlyn d'elysse.

Those conversions work out quite well and they're only very slightly bulkier than the standards judging by the marine back packs. But, it works anyway and is completely unnoticeable unless you've seen the packs on the actual models.
And Samus Marbo, nice.

Painted some seraphim and am very happy with the results! Especially the flame effect on the superiors Eviscerator (I know its meant to be a massive chainsword but i like the idea of a massive flaming sword that can melt through armor better )
Also painted celestine, I've decided to go with a cream armor colour on all of my specialist sqauds, so seraphim and dominion, and keep my basic sisters black. They both share the common purple cloth though. Automatically Appended Next Post: Decided after seeing these photos i need to highlight the purples :S.

Been quite quiet lately, slowly getting closer to finishing the ecclesiarchy force.
The main update is my Jacobus led frateris militia platoon. They have all been painted and based, and for all intents and purposes, finished.
I believe this is also the first look at my finished dominion squad, for which i used a mixture of space corsair, eldar and dark eldar bits.
My most recent edition is my small "grey knight" strike force, consisting of a unit of female termis and a female strike squad.
I've recently stumbled upon warmachine, as you might be able to tell from the number of privateer press models featured in my army. Currently i am using exemplar errants as crusaders, feora protector of the flame as a primaris psyker, daughters of the flame as death cults, Nicia tear of vengeance as guardsman marbo, ashlynn D'elyse as jacobus and pirate lady(?) as an inquisitor.
The direction of my force is starting to lean more and more towards a close quarters, ie 24" and lower threat. I've started considering scratchbuilt proxies for penitent engines, if anyone has any ideas let me know! I was thinking sister dreadknights of some sort. At the bottom is a quick look at one of my other scratchbuilt conversions for a space wolf dread and my recent free hand valkyrie.
Enjoy!
