YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So yeah, I just bought a Hyperion! I'll also be converting it a little, but not so much that it won't be lore and Retribution friendly. I'm also planning on using some LEDs for Hyperion's Starburst cannon as well. Pictures to come!

Dont Privateer Press plastics warp when exposed to heat? Like I keep hearing people use hot water to fiddle with it while assembling.

Yeah, the PP plastics are more prone to softening up when heated than the GW plastics. Hyperion however is Resin, not plastic, though as Resin is will have the same issues.

Many resin parts actually. Unlike the other colossals, Hyperion doesn't have a solid torso resin chunk; it's subdivided into three pieces. Pictures tomorrow! I have enough free time tomorrow to do some uploads and hopefully a diagram for where the wiring will go and what sections will be using LEDs.
Also, I used hot water to bend back a Banshee's blade straight (kinda warped when it came out of the box). Automatically Appended Next Post: ...I really need to review my posts before I post them...

None of the collossals have a Solid resin torso, they're all very thin hollow shells of resin. And Conquest is three parts as well.

Yup, all the colossals have hollowed sections. Perfect for sticking batteries for LEDs or an MP3 player to belt out some appropriate tunes.

Ok! So here's the thread I've started on the painting and modeling forum:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/483409.page
As to making a plan on how to incorporate the LED and wiring, I'll have a schematic made soon (hopefully by the weekend).
Cheers!

They probably realized that would have been way OP.

On a Colossal? They are more then competitive without them. Ret already has access to 2 fantastic Arc Hodes, giving them one on a Colossal .. i'd agree with the folks who mention it would have been OP to have that.

Fluffwise it would make sense. I mean if you are making the giant warjack, you will probably put your most advanced technology into it. Arc Nodes would be a no brainer.
Although you might make the argument that the Arc Node technology is needed just so the Warcaster can control it. Its too much of a drain to control while also using an Arc Node on it for the purposes of channeling spells. You are channeling just to control it. Doing that and controlling it is too much.

And the fact that it tries to harness some pretty scary theoretical physics into its chassis!

I love this theory. Let's apply it.
Cygnar - Stormwall. Lightning. Yep.
Protectorate - Judicator. Fire. Check.
Retribution - A Laser Beam that Disappears Bodies. Woah.
Cryx - Kraken. Feeds on the Living. Sweet.
Circle - Woldwrath. Buffs magic and prevents it. Wooo!
Legion - Archangel. Wings. Yep.
Skorne - Mammoth. Guns. Pewpew!
Trollbloods - Mountain King. Whelps. Wait...
Mercenaries - Harpoon. What?
Khador - A Mule Cannon.Huh?
Mostly checks out !

Well Khador doesn't have Arc Node tech, though you'd think that would have been much easier to steal then Colossal blueprints.
Cygnar I could see them making up a fluff reason not to put it on there because of all the galvanic tech and energy messing it up and maybe making feedback issues.
Menoth, Ret and Cryx though I don't know why they wouldn't have them. Especially Cryx who has an abundant supply of Arc Nodes and loves to use them. I don;t know why they don't stick em on every Jack.

@12thRonin
Additionally, I had to do some work on the legs so that the Hyperion looks taller; the way PP made it looked like it was squatting instead of running.

Update!
There will be some more pictures to come this weekend; I'm in the middle of studying and midterms are around the corner (yay...). SO! I need your opinion on Hyperion's LED gun colour: yellow, red, green, or clear? Also, there will be some adjustments as to where the wires, batteries, and switch (switch and batteries will most likely to be stored in the shoulders of Hyperion); LEDs will be kept inside the wheel generators of the starburst cannon.
Cheers!

Ok. I ran into some troubles. My dremel's drill bit alignment is off and caused some defects in the grooves of the starburst cannon. Today is not good day

Helped my friend to put his Hyperion together yesterday. His big issue is he wanted to magnetize the top and bottom for easier transportation. So I helped him with that and it turned out well.
But while doing it I noticed lots of cracks and had major problems keeping the knees in particular glued together. It is a crazy beast of a model.

Updated.
Yeah, magnetizing sounds like the way to go for me at this point. The only battery that allows the LED to shine at its full potential is the 9V. Right now I have no idea where to store it, except for maybe on the base, or maybe having several 3V batteries into series in placed into the shoulders; that's where I'll magnetize a little flap to replace dem batteries.
More to come soon!
