So I've been having some pretty fethed up dreams recently. A night or two a go it was a very involved dream where in I was possessed by a demon which manifested itself from my hand to start and had a flair for dramatic villain dialogue. I had to exorcise it, kill it then kill a bunch of it's friends. About ten minutes ago I woke up from a dream where a psychotic security officer from Texas knocked me out, pumped me full of black widow spider venom (a personal all time favorite fear of mine are spiders in general) dumped me in a office environment of some kind that had been stripped of phones and was completely dark in many place (might have been a school) and played The Most Dangerous Game with me as the quarry. Psycho's weapons of choice were a hatchet and hypodermic needles of all sorts of random fillings.

So all of that brings us down to two questions:
A. do you believe your dreams have any form of meaning? if yes how do your interpret your dreams?
B. What's the most flying rodent gak insane dream you've had that you can remember?

A) No. And I have a strong dislike of Jung in general as he embodies what I consider to be the worst aspects of armchair psychology.

B) Hardly ever remember mine, but any kind of crummy-job work dreams always suck.

They might pay you for your time, but they get your dreams for free.

ever since I moved to cambridge I've had some really short but also fethed up ones

for example, waking up, looking in the mirror to find that the area around my mouth had rotted away >.> cant think of the others at the moent but yeah....they've been pretty weird.

not to mentionI never used to dream :/ so this isnt exactly a nice change

I'm not even going to attempt to describe some of the dreams I have had, but as a taster I've had:
A 5-part series (i.e, dream always picked up where it left off) on alien abduction (including a probing, walking into a force-field head on, acting as ambassador from earth) which would be preceded by an attack of sleep paralysis where I was unable to move, but my house was vibrating (which I believe may have been psychosomatic but nonetheless scary).
Recurring dreams as a 4-year-old of charlie chapling trying to kill me
A dream where any life-form I touched would explode in a shower of blood and gore

I can honestly say I've always been plagued by wierd, messed-up dreams, sometimes they are not bad per se, but always wierd enough to make me think Please do not circumvent our word filter. Thanks. Manchu' when I wake up, which is usually in the middle of the dream in a cold sweat...


As for meaning, my dreams are far too warped and depraved to have any meaning, so I don't really buy into it. IMHO, dreams are artifacts of your brain running a nightly defrag process and organising everything (which is how I ended up dreaming that my current employer had relocated the office to the chemistry lab of my old comprehensive school).

I can't remember 90% of my dreams nor do I care to. I even told the doctor to stop prescribing meds so I can.

I had a fairly vivid dream where I killed everyone I know, probably with a bladed implement, because my naked body was covered in blood. I stood remorseless over their bodies, tasting blood on my lips, for a while.

Then, an entire class of Japanese High-school girls wearing knee-highs and pleated skirts and bows took turns sitting on my face, and they all tasted differently, all of them a different type of candy. It was lovely.

That's a commonplace element of dreams caused by stress.

A: Never. Okay, sometimes I superstitiously proclaim that it was a premonition upon waking up, but that lasts as long as it takes for me to get dressed and leave my bedroom.
B: I have crystal clear dreams that sometimes make me ponder whether or not they really happened when I think back upon them a few weeks later. So I have a lot of weird ones.
My earliest dream I can remember from when I was real young involved one of those 1 shaped robots from Reboot jumping down at me as if to attack and spinning about my head so quickly it became a blur.
Then there was one from senior public school where a mummy came into my class, drew two scimitars and began dancing in front of my class, (but only I saw he was really rehearsing the moves he'd make when he'd start butchering the girl he was standing near)
Then there was one where dreamed I got mugged in a forest near a road at night. As I headed up the road I realized I was dreaming and turned around to exact revenge on my imaginary tormentors. When I couldn't find them I tried to step in front of a car to see what would happen, but the cars kept swerving away.
I've had reoccurring dreams of murdering someone and going to prison (I blame the prison documentaries that I can't get enough of) and am relieved when I wake up and see I haven't ruined my life.

Dreams are usually a reflection of prior experiences and/or your own hopes/desires/fears.

As you usually can't tell which is which, you're better off just ignoring them. Unless you have the same dream over and over again. In which case you might be able to find out whats causing it.

I'm one of those crazy people that never dreams. Well almost never. When I do have a dream, it's usually 98.934729% wiped from my memory by the time I get up and make my morning poo.

When I am dreaming they seem totally real, I'll even convince myself in the dream that it's real and think stuff like "I'm so glad this is for real and I'm not just dreaming" .. that's usually right around when I wake up.

I would think so, I havent really been sleeping well so yeah :/ it wouldnt supprise me if that was the case

As for me, my dreams really aren't that interesting. Usually they just pertain to whatever I've been doing that week, like if I've been playing a lot of hockey I'll dream about playing a game of hockey.

A. No, not really. Jung stuff is cool but I don't put much stock in it.

B. Well one of my personal favourites was one where one of my buddies (who is a tall built dutchman) turned into a werewolf and then I turned into a werewolf and he tried to kill me so I tried to kill him by jumping repeatedly on his head while trying to stuff him into some kind of carbon freezing chamber on board what looked like a UNSC ship from Halo. All the while Treebeard was yelling at us for some reason or other, And all this happened in a Zero G environment.

Another one was where I was the white power ranger and had to save a bunch of mermaids from the penguin and we were all in an olympic swimming pool. But that one was from waaaaaaay back when.

A somewhat odd thing happened last year though, I was living with a bunch of mates in the house on of them had bought. Lived there for a year, about 3 months in we all started having similar fethed up dreams that would feature eachother. We basically figured it was something along the lines of synchronisation, akin to when girls who live together have their periods synch up.

Nah no Frazzled involvement, didn't see any wiener dogs.

I dream in colour but have had one black and white dream where i spent the time hiding from some kind of killer in an open sewer drain. Oh and that's not counting the nightmares of mozarts dead father from the movie amadeus from when i was about five.

Has anyone had a half dream?
I was trying to get to sleep one night when my brain started dreaming and i'm thinking "Hang on I'm AWAKE!". A weird experience, i was wondering if anyone else had experienced it.

Maybe, but that would be strange, anime characters are heavily 'europeanized'. In a weird form of self-depreciation, anime and manga often only draw evidently japanese characters when they want to suggest that the character is dumb, or unrefined.

I haven't had a "landing" dream in ages. I think they are just the bodies way of making sure you wake up full of adrenalin and ready to go . Waking up a few inches off the bed after one of those dreams certainly is a novel way to wake up.

Yes my dreams do tell me things, details, ideas and stuff.

In one of my dreams I was in a hallway which had a pool of water, i walk down the hallway but i felt like as if i was making no progress. I then fell around my face and i noticed something smooth. I looked down in the reflection in the water and I only saw my right eye and a white mask. I immediately woke up and had no idea what the hell i just saw.

The worst part is that they usually happen when you need to get some sleep. And sometimes happen one right after another.

Yeah, it was a weird dream. I also had a dream where thousands of female legs were caressing my body. It was literally like I was floating in a sea of legs, letting them wash over me. Some of them were wearing fishnets, some wearing striped mint knee highs, some wearing nothing, but they were all beautiful. Then, a hand reached out to me. This was the most perfectly feminine hand I had ever seen. Nails trimmed perfectly, delicate and dainty, but with powerful reassurance. I grabbed it, and I was pulled up into a hot spring bath house, in the middle of winter.

Some other lewd things happened too. I don't think too much about them, because I'm immediately overcome with grief, and often fall into the fetal position shortly after I realize nothing is like anime, and life is stagnant and depressing.... ;_;

If life was like anime you'd probably be sliced up into three seperate peices by now, or hacked apart by a demon, or (most probably) involved in quite a long and convoluted plotline.

The thing is, in order to get in such a lovely situation, you have your character written to where you are the one person in the world who would not want to be in the situation. Thussly, you would be miserable or clueless, or both.
