i bet you wont stand a fleating chance against a good taxcollector worth his salt... here in germany you can get real problems when you have your own waterclearing device and try to skip the water clearing fees by that... and heck in some areas of germany tabwater is cheaper than used (for a lack of a better word...) water...

so i bet a taxcollector that sees you using self made rivets would kick your behin^^ no matter where you got these beautiful round objects^^ heck... lesser men have been hanged before because of unsanctioned beads usage...:saopbox:

Dang Vik! Those look great! The servo arm is wicked! The shotgun pistol looks good, but the handle looks a bit awkward, like it woul be hard to hold on to. The bolt Pistol looks very good! And what are you calling the other one? A plasma gun?

yep, from a wielding point of view i grant you it would be hard to hold it in a steady grip... i think i have to do something abou that...

about that arm tho... do you see what is needed now to make it look workable? the pistons...do they need some connection or band to connect them to the structure? atm they do look as if just glued on... and do you have an idea as to what that medic/mek arm should be wielding?

If you need ideas of what to do with the servo arm, I drew this up real quick, it will give you an idea of what I am thinking. The ribbed tube would be attached on the opposite side of the H-beam, and hang slack at the joints.

do i need to make on the upper arm part...more tubes? like the red and blue ones? there is a futher piston planned...it is already done but it needed the other two to be fully cured before glueing that one one...

I would. I know hydraulic pumps need two hoses per piston, but that is about as far as my knowledge of hydrodynamics goes.

Bloody hell Vik some update and that arm is FANTASTIC !!!!! I cant believe the detail on it, and all those guns who as been a busy boy, I like the double barrelled pistol that is a dam fine model and if you don't mind I might borrow that idea, and give you credit in "my thread"


Well you could look online at some mechanical arms for detail ideas, thats what I did for my grot mega tank you know the one on "my thread"

As for the wife wanting you to do the cleaning, our vac blew up the other day and the new turned up today, so I have just had a run through of all the amazing things it can do I said to her do you which end does the sucking now then ….. she did not laugh

There's one issue I can see with the Arm- for those pistons to get a good range of motion, the wide bit needs to be a lot longer- remember, the skinny part goes into the dicke part it retracts, and usually doesn't come out the other side.

If you're going Steam powered, instead of modern-style hydraulics, you'd only need one hose, but also a heavy-duty spring to push the joint back the other way- or you could use two hoses, as well. But one hose is possible, because steam can just be vented after being used to extend or retract the piston, instead of needing to be re-circulated.

Each piston should have a cylinder and a rod. THe cylinder is typically half as long as the Rod, maybe a little more.....

I learned all this making the hydraulics on the warhounds.....


It isn't difficult to get the length ratio down after a few tries.....

Vik good source of springs, if you have hand wash with the little pump tops on them, break them open great spring inside and cool little plastic ball ………. The house is full of broken wash bottles …….. she does not believe that I keep nocking them of the side any more

the thickness of your suggested springs would sadly outmatch the pistons howver...but for future use this is a good source...the problem i have is even ballpen ones would be too big...

maybe i can do my own with some wire on my own...got some very fine one...

the pastic balls i recently used as balljoints are from those cheap airsoft toys my son collects for me from the playground...other parents seem to enjoy the fact that their money gets wasted by this use of toyguns...strewn any old how across the sand...my son is a true treasure hunter ^^

that was an option for me too... think i will need to test some ideas...

Though they will make great starting point for sculpting heads on, and cannon balls for some of my dwarfs armoury

I have seen some where on the net about making springs and such things using a dremel, it was really good and rope ……. I will have a look and see if I can find it ……. I gather you have a Dremel or drill



Yes try it with the pistols I found it made a whole lot of difference
