I am adding Chaos Daemons as my Allies to my CSM

I have a squad of 10 Bloodletters and 3 Flamers of Tzeentch

I was thinking of taking the Herald of Tzeentch with the Flamers and Skulltaker with the Blood Letters

What ya think?

This will probably be around a 2500pt game

Since these will all be deep striking in, figured this would work.

I wouldn't use Bloodletters...for anything.

Heralds are pretty customisable. They can be a cheap way of adding a pretty tough CC unit (since they're all EW and all have invulnerable saves), or the Tzeentch ones can lay on some nice dakka.

Could also just run a greater deamon. Bloodletters are badass and pretty cheap, same for Lord of Change.

Unnessesarily extravegant word of the week award goes to jcress410 for this:

Masque of Slaanesh and or blue scribes are my choice. Pavane + plasma cannon just has a nice ring to it.

Herald of Tzeentch on a disc and Slaanesh Masque. What's the rest of the army looking like?

I agree on the bloodletters being jettisoned.

I would take daemonettes or horrors before them.

A Tzeentch herald on a chariot is particularly useful and relatively cheap. The blue scribes are actually pretty good too.

However, before taking a 2nd HQ, I would seriously take a look at bumping your flamer count and adding screamers. Both are just plain nasty and will draw a lot of attention from your opponent.

I also have a Bloodthirster I may use instead, not sure yet

The CSM portion is:

Daemon Prince w/ wings, MoN, Power Armor, Black Mace

Kharne the Betrayer w/ 9 Berzerkers in Rhino

2nd Squad of 10 Berzerkers in rhino

Havocs with 2x Missile Launcher and 2x Lascannons

Defiler with Twin Linked Lascannon

7x Plague Marines, 2x plasma guns, champion with plasma pistol and power sword

5x Terminators to deepstrike, 2x combi-flamer, 2x combi-melta, 1x power fist, 1x chainfist, champion with combi-melta and powerfist

15x Raptors, 2x flamers, MoK, IoW
5x Warp Talons, Mok

Yea I was looking at the screamers as well as getting 3 or 6 more of flamers, I want to play with them first before I get anymore
The reason I went with the Bloodletters is for deep striking right in and immediate CC. I hear they are pretty descent for that.
I believe I already have enough ranged fire power

Bloodletters used to be fantastic in CC with hellblades. But, since they are now AP3 and furious charge no longer grants +1Initiative, not so much. That is the reason I would recommend daemonettes. They are not as tough, but they strike at I6 or 7 and have rending. I also believe they have grenades and fleet, so they are better suited for digging things out of cover.

So would you say that Daemonettes are probably the top Troop choice for melee in Chaos Daemons?

Well, it depends on what you're facing, but yes.

Daemonettes give you a decent chance to kill terminators.
Bloodletters will kill space marines, but you will lose a few in the process.
Horrors are not meant for CC.
Plague bearers are OK, but tend to just tarpit things. They are better for holding objectives, but I cannot stand anything Nurgle (from a fluff standpoint) so I never use.

Right now I am facing Dark Angels SM
Mostly long range heavy weapons (Plasma cannons and missile launchers)
As well as Terminators

I would probably grab a large unit of daemonettes, say at least 15.

Bloodletters a bit too lacklustre these days.

You wont really be ale to DS in for immediate cc action either, you will ds in, get shot to pieces then the remnants can charge (hence why its a good idea to have a large squad) in provided you didnt scatter too bad and your close enough for something.
Welcome to daemonic assault lol.

I still enjoy blood letters especially if you have a heavy melee army such as Zerkers. Allow the Zerkers to charge in first to suck up the overwatch then charge the Letters in behind them. Once the swinging starts you allocate regular CCW attacks to the Zerkers and PW attacks to the Letters. It shoud help keep a good amount of both squads alive to retaliate.

If you're playing for keeps then Flamers + Masque is a win with some PB to soak hits. I run this with 1k sons and line up everything for doombolts or flamer templates.
