Another assault squad done on this army... these are tabletop jobs, so not my finest work. But they're quick. Sorta.

I cannot stand Blood Angels, but I love these models, and they make me want to collect a BA army and do them like this - mean, no-bullsh*t, killing machines. Awesome, grim red shade you've got going on there. I'd like the yellow to be just a shade deeper and less bright but that's just me, they are really fantastic. Loving the subtle OSL around the eyes particularly.

These look more orange than red but the blending is good.

The client is fond of the old-school 2nd edition orange-red schemes. This is a little darker than that to tie in a bit with the Space Hulk set I previously painted for them.

I might be off with the colour tweak for PC display (or my monitor is on the fritz). I'll probably take more shots of everything once the dreadnought's done.

Alas, this is the last squad in this army. The only remaining model is a metal venerable dreadnought. There's pics of everything in the blog thread (blogs forum) for this. There are also pics of everything on my blog and facebook page.

Very smooth and sharp painting. The yellow helmets are really well painted. The green OSL is nice, subtle, and well-done. Great job.

That orange-red tone is ruddy beautiful! And that power axe looks pretty good as well.

Yeah mate not bad. Highlighting is a little rough, but its easy to look past it with all the little details you've hit. 8/10

I love everything about these guys. I would still be working on my blood angels if they turned out this well. Amazing work as always.

Im a huge fan of the power axe. How did you do the chainsword handles, and other metallic parts? Was it a wash?

I gotta echo this: your TT far exceeds my best work. Wow. Nice job man, seriously.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I love the coloring, both the subdued red and the more prominent yellow. I'm jealous on how you made those helmets pop without looking cartoony. They really look bad-ass and threatening, just like a space marine should.
The yellow on my skaven always looks like it's from an eighties saturday-morning cartoon.

Still in awe every time you post your work Winterdyne.
However is that a mold line on the chainsword arm of the far right Assault Marine (with the mk4 helmet)? There also appears to be one on the barrel of the sergeants melta pistol.

Really beautiful, love them. It's nice to see work like this to have something to aspire to emulate one day (in the far future at this rate!).

Oh, and BTW, you wrote angles instead of angels in the thread title.

Thanks. Yes, there are a few mould lines here and there. Nothing too glaring IMO, especially without zoomed photos. I don't spend ages on the cleanup for TT jobs, so some stuff does get missed. I usually want to get a whole squad (5 men usually) off sprue, assembled, greenstuffed where needed, based and primed within a day's work. I aim for a total (average) working time of around 3 hours for a TT mini like these. These are maybe 3.5 stretching to 4.5 on the sergeants.

I guess what I'm trying to say echoes something going on the the BTP thread/rant; decent commission places will show you what you're getting, 'warts and all', to the best of their ability. Not only me, but Ifalna, The Waaagh, Golem, GMM - none of us post crap photos because 'it may look better than what you get'.

And I've fixed the thread title. That shows me up for posting late at night after inhaling thinners all evening.

Are your squad/ chapter markings painted on, transfers or green stuff?

The chapter markings are just decal, with the sergeant's painted over. Everything else is freehand.
