I had an idea for an army name. Instead of Blood angles i could go as Blood dragons, but a guy (don't know his name) told me something about
blood dragons in the fantasy side of warhammer and told me not to name them blood dragons, but half of my army has salamander heads on their shoulder pads. ( from my normal SM army. i wanted to change to Angles because i like assaulting but normal SM don't have much)

as you can see on my profile pic. they are my colours.

You should name them "Blood Marines". They can be Marines who drink the blood of their enemies.

No, it would make them Blood Sippers. They drink the blood out of a daisy cup.

Yes, the name does already exist as the Blood Dragons are a Vampire Counts Bloodline and also a Rare unit choice in Warhammer Fantasy.

There's nothing wrong and nothing confusing about naming your BA successor chapter the 'Blood Dragons' if that's what you really want to call them!
Why is it okay? Well, first off it's your army, not some random Fantasy mope's, and secondly, they're a 40k Space Marine army!

Seriously, if someone claims that naming your Space Marines the 'Blood Dragons' is going to confuse people/isn't right, then rest assured the only people you'd actually confuse are too stupid be worth playing a game against to begin with! While those who'd try to claim you "can't call them that" are more likely TFG to begin with... (and also not worth wasting your time with!)

It's not even a very big name in WHFB either, it's an aging concept and one denomination of a faction that's mostly being represented by something else now.

I just thought that blood dragons would relate to the blood name. plus with the sanguanry guard, can i replace the angle wings with more like the thoes nid flyers wings. (dont know their name but they are not Gargoyles) they look like dragon wings and a nice guy let me look at one of them. the wings look alright but do thay look to deamon like.

FWIW then OP, "Angles" is not taken. Their chapter symbol can be a protractor and compass dipped in blood.

Try the bat wings out of the Dark Eldar Scourges box, they might work. They might not be quite the right scale, though.

Pretty much.

Do what you want with your army.

But, to be fair, so long as your models match the requirements for the list, you can leave them as Salamanders and use the Blood Angels codex list.

Can you show me thoes dark eldar wings please. the only person who plays them doesn't have any.


I tried to place a Dragon born head from Dnd on a space marine. i molded it, it is basic for now.
