weird....but I guess my fellow countrymen produce lots of stuff... names these days mean nothing anymore...
personally I like cheese that is mature...old gouda, or any other mature cheese that peeps otherwise would not eat because of the smell...(remember I can´t smell? ) appenzeller...or gorgonzola...(two completely different cheeses at all...but range pretty high on the tangy scale^^)
That would be a blessing there VIk. I too love the taste of stinky cheeses (except Swiss) but the smell turns me off. ALways wanted to try Gorgonzola. Moldy goodness. Eating all that penicillin can't be bad for you

as for the smell...well...you´re talking colors with a blind man here^^...
I have a very good sense of smell, and love the aroma of ripened cheeses. If I find a good cheese shop that reeks, I know it is quality, if it is sterile of aromas, walk out!
