Well...I think that went well! It's a small plant that makes most of the Valve Seals for Engines. It's affiliated with the Dana corporation, but independent. I would be "The IT guy" so I'd get to do a lot of different things, which is ideal for me.

On a second front, There may still be a chance to work for my old company on a new Nationwide contract, repairing the POS systems for all the Wal-Marts in the Country! I'd be responsible for all the stores within a 30 mile radius and have 6-7 techs work for me, but apparently the pilot in Orlando, FL isn't going so well..

Then I just got a call about a simple Help Desk job at my Local Cable/Internet company, simple work, but it pays pretty well. We shall see!

No offers yet, but I feel better about myself today than I have in months.

Whatever you guys are doing (like sitting on your crossed fingers) please keep doing it!

This is all stuff that I applied for before the holidays, apparently everyone was waiting until after the New Year to interview!

The flu is really epic right now, so they were probably visiting me . With how retail works that POS repair that isn't working right will probably be fully launched nationwide.

I have recently been through similar experiences and I have to say dude, don't worry it comes good, you are a good guy and it will come good for you in the end honest.

Apparently, the Wal-Mart gig is full of all sorts of Fubars. Can't get parts, employees hiding the hand scanners, etc. etc. It's a real mess. The Automotive gig is the one most exciting me right now. No contract BS either, however it is a 30+ minute drive, that's the only downside.

Well I hope you get the job you want but if not take whats offered as its at least an income plus you can move once you find something better

Yeah..but for the first time in my life, I'm beyond needing the job just for the income. No kids, no real debt anymore. I already busted my ass over the past 16 years to fix all that. At this point I want to enjoy going to work every day, making a difference you know? Really getting into my work. There are only two things I hate..People who are intolerant of other cultures..and THE SWISS! - seriously, there is nothing more infuriating that working for the arrogant Swiss. They hide Nazi Gold as well as their contempt behind their gakky English accents

I reject and outwardly mock any and all caste systems. And the Swiss have feudalism engrained into their modern day workforce. They especially don't like Americans telling them how to use Technology that was designed by Americans. They REALLY get upset when an American woman tells them what is up, and I've worked with some of the smartest women ever. lady geek is one such. I see no color, creed, or sex when it comes to getting work done, but some people can't let go of old ideas. Naturally I clash with personalities like that and consider myself an agent of change, since change is the only constant force in the universe. And silly little knives too!

And let's not forget, The Cuckoo Clock Hope all works out well

If that's your idea of Fondue, you need to be re-educated in the cheese mines.

A 30 minute ride, give or take, doesn't seem bad to me - more so if it is a job you'll like and is a a good opportunity.

Especially if the traffic isn't unbearable and a major cause of it being 30 minutes.

BUt maybe that's just the "Northeast" in me speaking.

Or maybe it is my time in Southern California speaking - were I lived 8 miles from work, and it would take 45 minutes to get there!

I will say this, one good thing about the Swiss is Swiss Chocolate. Vik might be able to back me on that.

I've got a chunk of German smoked Gouda in there. That's proper cheese. And I've had Swiss chocolate, it's not all that really.
