I have both unfortunately, Kids are more expensive, that's about the only difference. They both mess everywhere, eat you out of house and home, break EVERYTHING, chew what they don't break, and generally make a noise, actually that list could include the wife!

I'll keep my kids AND my pets, thank you!

And yeah, pets are really a 'luxury' item when you get down to it...

Very true as pet food is lower cost, and kids need school and clothes, meals, attention, discipline, etc

Pets just need food/water/toys and attention

I haven't been busy, just kind of lost my modeling mojo.

You need to play games man , its what gets me stoked again.....then again I've been in dulldrums recently too. But the KOW games have me painting fantasy models again.

I have been busy. Fine tuning the warhounds....

Hey, Dave, wondering what it would cost to have you paint one for me?

I know you already said that if I send one you will paint it and return it. I believe you meant at no cost just because it would be fun to do but what would be the monetary cost to you for the paint and supplies necessary to paint one of these?

I lost my modelling Mojo as well I think it maybe under all that crap in my man cave

Me too man! I've actually entertained the thought more than once of just getting rid of all my crap. I haven't yet, but I've thought about it. I have an obscene amount of unbuilt kits and such. I'm a sick hobby hoarder I think. Admitting that doesn't make me feel better either

^ Sometimes I need to do that! I end up thinking about how long it will take to do then I add the new stuff I will buy and it seems impossible, then i start not enjoying it so i sell/give away armies and models until I'm back on track!

My friend Brother Paen is that way. He sees good deals on undles of sprues and partial kits at the Warseer or on Ebay and buys bunches. He does a bunch of conversions but still has stuff filling box after box. I collect trinkets that I see have use for scratching and it has built up. If there are toys going to the trash I take em apart for usable pieces. I have a gallon zip lock bag of McDonalds milk jug lids..... Those are cool. I see dozens of good uses for them but keep building Warhounds and can't get to those other cool projects. I have doller store toys and party trinkets and a stack of Polystyrenes sheets almost a foot thick.

We are addicted to plastic, ya'll....

Get used to it....

Accept it and most of all: Enjoy it....

I believe the kids today are fond of saying - YOLO......

These things have a habit of going in cycles. You'll reach a point where you think you've pushed as far as you can go, or you don't seem to be doing anything new, or some other reason, and you loose enthusiasm.

You may find something else that grips you for a while (that's why I have so many hobbies) but at some point you'll see or find something from an earlier hobby and it'll spark that enthusiasm off again and the cycle starts again.

Don't feel down Dave. Just find something that you enjoy, We'll be here when you get your mojo back.

my wife would love me to sell some stuff of my own...built or unbuilt ...but honestly... I can´t part with anything for real...

I think dave your problem is still your joblife...once that is "cured"...than everything falls into place again as we still fondly remember our true dave used to be... until then I hope you can still hold your breath...you stated that there are some "interviews" bound to happen in the future... be sure that I cross my fingers for that to be at least one positive outcome!

that would be a shame (probably, but I have no idea how much of an accumulation there is.) Well if you need a push what would it take?

I have thought the same as of late what if I just sell it all of but then I know I would regret it, I have done it before and regretted it moments later but I do need to curve my obsessive buying

To be honest Dave you will get it back plus this time of year and the way life is does not help in anyway, plus where would we go for inspiration and techniques

Look at us all we are just hoarders it's the way of life for us plastic crap is a must.

Vik, is however, completely right. It's a subconscious Maslow's pyramid thing for me. When you are a professional at something for 16 years and then suddenly, you aren't for awhile, I guess that's the way it goes. Jobs I applied for last year are now finally calling. Hopefully, something will pan out soon. I have another interview tomorrow.

Good luck on the job hunt. You'll be re-employed and missing all the modeling time you had soon enough. Stuck behind a desk wishing you could be playing fallout as the boss drools on and on about reports and his greatness
