While I've heard nothing lately and think Dark's comment was pretty wild speculation, the idea of a conspiracy against Chavez is hardly unthinkable. The CIA were balls deep in the 2002 coup.

Your local media might not say anything about it Here they do, and I compare/check with what relatives and friends at Venezuela tell me. And if there's a conspiracy, it's not against Chavez.

The roblem with his government is that all depends on him being in charge, without him there will be fragmentation and the last thing they want is to have elections again... not without him.

And I remember the 2002 coup sponsored by the CIA, how long it took Chavez to get back in place? Less than a week?

But his Trotskyism/socialism has reasons. certain American corporations are greed indeed. and willingly to oust him and believing that military government serves their interest (and democratically elected ones may not).
