So, though it is a tired and cliche conversion, I have chosen to theme my new SM army as a Star Wars army. I have a pretty simple scheme for them and an idea of how I want to model the troops, but I pose the following question.

How should I model the Termiators and Drednoughts?

Regular marines: Storm Troopers
Scout Marines: Scout troopers with the squared visor
Librarian: Jedi Masters (most likely a Vader and Emperor model)
Chaplain: Jedi (open to suggestions here)
Assault Marines: Storm Troopers with Jump Packs
Vehicles - normal Storm trooper grey paint scheme - rather german looking tones.
Scout or Marine bikes: Speeders, I have a cool looking conversion on these.

I cant, for the life of me figure how to do the Termies. Help me Dakka Dakka, you're my only hope!

Space troopers as terminators? As I recall from the xwing series of games they were armed with proton torpedo launchers, so there is your cyclone

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The Terminators can represent Dark Troopers, plausibly.

Or you could really "counts as" and model troopers riding dewbacks.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Dreadnoughts should be AT-ST's - but pimped out with close combat stuff.

Terminators should be something more elite, like Red Guard.

You're not gonna get the bulky Terminator look from the Star Wars universe, really.

I am currently taking commissions.

I have an AT-ST walker that I picked up and have converted to be a StormTalon - it is tall enough to qualify for the flyer's height, and I have the same load out - the assualt cannons and bolters.

As to the dark troopers, I like that idea, painting them black seems like a good fit.

I was planning on doing the company command or the Veteran Sternguard as the Emperor's Guard - the guys in red cloaks, give the less conspicuous outfit to the bad troops.

so is the general concensious for the Dreds to be a grey scheme then? like all the other "vehicles"?

I would also agree with Dark Troopers. Originally, in the early SW games, they weren't as large as they are now, but Force Unleashed changed their size, and they fit the role now.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Check my gallery here on dakka for some ideas. I ran Palpatine as a Sorceror/Librarian and Vader as a Chaplain,"whose sad devotion to that ancient religion"...has served him well. If you refer to codex space marines and codex chaos marines you could build a force that can play either way with a few changes . Good luck and we'll keep an eye on this one.

I believe when that army was originally posted they said the heads were from a ton of stormtroopers from the Star Wars Miniatures game. Taking liberally from that range will do most of your job for you. I've seen at least one army that used ONLY those miniatures.
