Not that I want one of these teeny things, but I thought this was kinda cool. You make a Kickstarter campaign kind of thing, but for a new car and people pledge money so you can buy it

I can't help but think you would need quite a few generous friends and family to fund the cost of a new car...

Indeed... It would be nice if the super cheap new cars (sub £3,000) were more widespread. It would be even nicer if all cars were significantly cheaper

Been doing a lot of car researchling lately since I'm getting a new one this spring. Seems like they're just turning em all into computers with wheels now to drive up the prices, and sticking cheapy underpowered engines in them for gas mileage because they think that's all people care about now. Kinda wish I just kept my old jeep. bare bones but and I could drive it up the side of a mountain if I wanted to, perfect for the zombie apocalypse.

As someone that drives 120 miles a day... Gas mileage is all I care about. My car can handle everything else that it needs to, I just want to save some cash as I do so.

Honestly I can't say enough about my Subaru. Decent mileage and at over 100k within a lil over 3 years she's running strong as hell.

It runs silently and without the need for gasoline?

I love mine. 2001 Dakota, about to run over 100k miles, and works just fine. If I had one complaint, it's that i've got the V8 in her. Would have preferred the V6 so I could get just a bit better mileage.

I have a '04 Sebring. It's put up with me beating the hell out of it quite nicely, and the transmission is in good shape.
Generally, my understanding is that when you've had a Dodge as long as I have, the transmission begins doing things... bad things like killing people at night and framing you for it. So far, mine has only eaten one orphan that I'm aware of.
On topic: Topic is fethed up. At first, I thought these were some new car that Dodge came up with that was some kind of sub $10k car, like the budget cars in India and stuff like that. I was thinking, "Oh, that's novel. Trying to come up with a consumer friendly car that's actually priced reasonably for those who need somewhere between public transit and an actual car." Nope. It's a full $16000+ car.
I want someone to just HAND me money for a car. :(
