Fluff and game wise: MAKARI BANNA WAVA my all-time fav

Marbo. Marbo never dies, he just generously decides to leave the battle so the rest of his army can share some of the fun of killing things.

Brother Corbulo is pretty awesome, but he still dies to a krak missile or a power fist with no saves. My money would have to go to Fateweaver. Need 6's to hit him with shooting, Toughness 5, eternal warrior, fearless, best save in the game (better than a 2++). He's still a monstrous creature, so he's pretty good at challenges (strength 10 ap 2). Fluff-wise, I would go for The Swarmlord. Pretty boss in combat and, if he dies, the Hive Mind will just make another one

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

Fluff-wise Grimaldus is pretty decent, what with having survived getting a Cathedral collapsed on top of him and all.

Well any of the necron Lords are pretty badass survivors both on the game and fluff wise. I mean in game T5 2+armor 3+ inv and 4+ resurrection. Fluffwise if they woudl get beaten they will just teleport back automatically and then repair back up
Other than that there's always the fluff everyone loves so much about Kaldor Draigo and how he's slaying all alone greater demons and deamon princes and well you name it.

They literally can't be killed properly until the final battle at the end of time. Until then, if you kill them, they'll just come back.

I had a great in-game example recently. My master of sanctity with terminator armor and adamantine mantle with his thunder hammer run into a spacewolf terminator lord with eternal warrior and I think an improved invuln. It turned into a 4 game turn slugfest of a challenge and he eventually won. We were both frustrated since we wanted to do other things with our squads, so it was a relief to lose a challenge for once

They'd just come back - dying at the end of everything is set in stone, so there would be some fluff reason that they wouldn't die. The ship would break and not get there, or some other eldar would steal them away via the webway etc.
Someone argued a very good point a while back about smashing the sprit stone on them and sending them into the warp. But fluff prevents this lol.

Not even Eldrad is infalliable. Otherwise he wouldn't have been mindfethed by Slaanesh. His prophecies might be inaccurate.

I was sorry that Makari was written out of the Ork Codex, it was a nice bit of light hearted Orky entertainment sacrificed for grimdark.
Out of curiosity though what happens if St, Celestine kills Lucius?

Celestine becomes Lucius, kills herself before the transformation is complete and promptly respawns.
On a more serious note, nothing. Celestine isn't mortal anymore, she's "beyond" such mundane tricks as Lucius, the same way that I doubt a Bloodthirster or a Lord of Change would be effected by Lucius's death. They're just too damn powerful to notice.

add in Drazhar as he is basically a Phoenix lord, who might just be an animated suit of armor that can never die.

When did Slaanesh get hold of Eldrad?
It(the Rhana Dhandra) isn't one of his prophecies though - it's just written in the codex....so it's RAW

Your counter argument doesn't work very well when Eldrad totally did see this coming, and took measures to ensure his destruction wasn't total, only mostly.
And there's no amount of damage that can destroy the Phoenix Lords's armor. It can, and has, been in situations where complete annihilation was the only result and it still showed back up somewhere else.
As for another true immortal: Yarrick.
Orks believe he's immortal and indestructible. Orks believing something hard enough make it reality.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

In game: Yarrick. First game with guard with my space marine playing friend, against bloodangels player using storm raven, deathcompany dread and other stuff (it was about 750 points). Everything on our side was tabled but yarrick. That blood angels player's screams echoed throughout the shop as yarrick got back up about 5 times, before napping.

Maugan Ra, for fending off an entire Tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan on his own and coming out fine. If that isn't survivable I don't know what is. And takes a trip into the warp to rescue a craftworld on his own. Eldrad is doing pretty good, he is still alive, although not what some people call alive, over 10000 years is good going. I think Grimaldus is pretty survivable, having buildings fall on you and getting back up is not a bad feat.

The prophecy is that they will be killed by Marbo in the final battle, and you really don't want to make Marbo mad by dying before he can kill you. So Marbo still wins the thread.
