good evening scions of decay. One a year i build a 1000pt army to play the only fantasy i ever play, an annual one day tournie. Last year i took vampire counts, and we came 3rd over all (we should have been first but shenanigans happened). I sold the army as i don't like playing the same force twice, and so a few months ago i began to look at daemons. I've always wanted a nurgle army, but with too many armies for 40k fantasy seemed to fit the bill. Now i had a nice army list worked out, but that's gone to the wall with the next codex coming out. So i've got a good host together (20 plagues, 3 nurglings and a plague hulk) to start this little log until i get a defined army list.

Now for pictures. This is a test model, so it's got a lot of experimentation in the scheme. Note i am going to re-paint the sword as it looks even lazier than i expected.

i will be painting each plague bearer slightly differently, but this is to get a feel for the multi-wash brush techniques i plan to use on the rank and file models.

Feedback welcome,

Very nice start! I agree that you should paint each plaguebearer different. That would add to their indiviuality and keep out the "blandness" of a unit of Chaos looking too much like each other.

@nem; yeah that the plan man. i don't like the uniform look, especially on a unit of plague riddling sicknlessness.

now it's time for an update.

I got this in the mail a few days ago, and after 24 hours in the stripper it came out lovely and clean. I've since basecoated it, ready for me to spend the next five days of my holiday (tues-sun) painting ever inch of it in almost stupidly over the top detail... or so i hope.

Looking good so far. I'll admit, I only clicked due to the Discworld reference, but I think I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Keep it up, can't wait to see more of those Plaguebearers.
