@ Miss Dee - It's never too late for zombies! Mostly I just like to keep them in mind so that when the Zombie Apocalyps comes, I'm ready for it. It IS going to happen you know!

@Arm.chair.general - Thank you very much! I think GW wyches are pretty good though. But the Daemonettes need work in my mind. Hmmmm... I could do some Daemonettes! Maybe in a year or so!

@FantasyBob - I do have some ideas in mind. Or rather the peson that will be commissioning me does. I'll ask if they are ready for me to talk about it, or are still sitting on the information.

@ Obsidian Raven - Thanks! I hope to keep you excited about it! I'm not even sure what exalting does. I've done it on a few threads, but don't know what happens.

I have UPDATES! I know, It's been a while, so 'Ere we go!
Commissar #2 - I know she is busty. She turned out WAY more top heavy than I intended. She was supposed to be busty. But after adding the coat, and then the lapels, she is looking like Dolly Parton. Anyway, you be the judge. And @ Loredragon2: let me know if this is too busty. I can start over on the boobs, tone them down a bit. Shouldn't take too long.

I'm still not done of course. But I'm getting there.

Now on to the female soldiers:
I've been re-shping the original legs that I wasn't happy with, and have some progress on those.

And I have started on legs #2: These are intended to be rough, just to give me a better idea for proportions. I will be adding pants to these legs.

I have also bee working on a gas mask to go on my soldier's heads.

And here are some shots of my female soldier head on a cadian body for comparison:
With gas mask:

Without gas mask:

Well, that's it for now. I know my progress is a bit slow. But finding time to work on these guys with a 2 month old and a 2 year old in the house is not easy.

Thanks for looking. C&C appreciated!

The =]_,= does not discriminate against any riveting, keep that in mind I like what is going on here, I see nothing wrong at all with the top-heaviness at all For the gasmask, it really almost needs something more cylindrical for a filter. The bit there looks like a codpeice lol

LOL, yeah it does look a bit codpiece-ish! But it's still WIP, there are going to be a couple of options. One will be a breathing tube going to a filter on the belt, either front or back, or one of those screw-on canisters. I might even do the two canister style, one on each side.

Are you making sure the legs are long enough in proportion? That first Commisar is looking a little pixie-ish.

Well, I'm trying to keep proportions in mind. I think with the commissar, it looks a bit off, as there is much more detail on the upper portion as opposed to the legs, and it is kind of over-balancing the model. But hopefully, when I get her cap on, effectively increasing her height, and get her arms done, it will make it look more balanced. (I hope) I think the big boobs add to this effect too. Also, when I get her on the base, it should even things out a bit more. (why isn't there a "crossing fingers" emoticon?) (If it still looks odd, I can always go in and cut off her legs at the thighs, and make them a bit longer. Or I could cut around 1mm from her torso under the sash.)

As for the legth of the soldier's legs, they are going to be a bit longer than IG legs, and the torsos will be a bit shorter, giving more of a leggy look to the female soldiers. (Again...I hope)

Just saying. It's not out of control proportion issues- it's not hitting the uncanny valley or anything- just shorter legs than you seem to like.

I had to look up uncanny valley! I had not heard of that before! I hope to avoid the repulsive resemblance to a human while still making her seems plausible!

I really do appreaciate all critiques! My last response was maybe more of me trying convicing myself that she still looks good! And I do like some long legs!

@FantasyBob - Thanks! And which boot? The one in the air? I am waiting on that one until I am ready to set her on the base for a test fit. Almost there!

@Miss Dee - I haven't forgotten about that. I am waiting for the blanks I sent off to Wehrkind to be cast to get back to me. (from reports, it may be soon!)

Right?!? So, I have been looking for reference pics of navigators since you asked me about it a while ago. I'm sure you know there are precious few out there. Most are dressed in long heavy robes and have imperial aquillas and =I= symbols all over them, in addition to the eye <o> iconography. What I want to know is are you wanting a female version of what is out there? A Female version of this guy?

Or are you thinking something outside the Imperial box? Like a "sexy" navigator? With a little cleavage and leg showing?

Just looking for more ideas.

Probably not gonna read them. So which style are you looking for? If you say I have to read the books, I'll just go with "sexy navigator'!

I am waiting for the blanks I sent off to Wehrkind to be cast to get back to me.

WHO SUMMONS ME!

Oh, hi!

So yes, I haven't just been a complete bum this weekend, even though I did just throw in the towel Saturday after driving back home from the wild woods. However, STUFFS!

Ok, so before we saw the sprue I glued up, before Thanksgiving. After picking up my casting things I left at my old house like an idiot, I got the mold boxes built, and tossed in some ballast in the form of old molds:

Legos are awesome in industrial applications

Then, mixing up the silicon and pouring it in, popping it in the pressure chamber aaand.... 18 hours later:

Popping it out yields:

A clear rubbery tomb from which it needs to be sliced.

After a few minutes of that, it was time to mix some liquid plastic and impregnate the bitch. 3 hours later, and this sticky little bastard was wrenched from its silicon womb:

A little sticky and shiny (for some reason the first pour always is like that) with a bit of a bubble on the top of the main torso, but otherwise looking good! I tweaked the mold a little to fix the bubble issue (the inlet was a little small since I just used the attached paperclip) and tomorrow morning after the molds currently setting are done I will start the next run. Yay!

And again, for those of you playing at home, these things are TINY. I am seriously impressed. How impressed? Enough that I asked Mr. Jake here to do some centaurs for me for a game Jin and I are working up. As soon as I can force my random brain images out through my fingers. Or Jin's fingers. He has some good concept work he needs to get on Google docs... like now. Of course we spent most of the day watching Archer and playing Dominion, so it will have to wait till later tonight

Awesome looking stuff Wehrkind! All of this stuff is amazing to me! I SO want to get into this side of the hobby, but it seems like there is a steep learning curve, and not to mention, a lot of new stuff to buy.

Also, yes, Centaurs! I'm really branching out on this one! There will be males and females, young and old, small and large! I will be attempting to sculpt heads and faces again! If I fail at the faces, I'll just get more from Hasslefree, but I'll try first. I now need to look for a few horses somewhere, so I have something to go off scale wise.

@ Miss Dee - Leathers. Like biker leathers? Or Dominatrix leathers? Maybe a little of both? I can do that!

@ FantasyBob - Thanks! And don't stop pointing out stuff that you find odd! (this goes for everyone!) You never know when it might be something I overlooked!

@ MOrdain - I know right?

I also got skulls in the mail last night! Yay! Most where the same ones I put on the first Commissar's base. Some are just like those, but with jaw bones hanging open (those will be cool), and some were full skulls with the jaws closed, and are big enough to look like helmets for IG! I just need to add necks, and maybe some breathing tubes and such so they look like helmets. You could also keep them looking like skulls for an undead IG army! I'll get some pics up tomorrow of what they look like on cadian bodies. The neck I added to the first one is still curing. See below for what the sulls look like.

I found them on eBay! Here is the home page of where I got them. Just search for "skulls" in his profile.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/caomao1122/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

I think he (she?) has a webpage you can order straight off of, but I preffere to go through ebay for the consumer protection. They are based in China, and the first time I ordered, last year, it took about 3 weeks to get here, but this last shipment took less than 2 weeks! Super fast!
