*FLUFF* Marneus and his honour guard stepped off the thunderhawk and onto a charred, desolate battlefield. The honourable 2nd company had just demolished a horde of orks, yet there were still millions more en route to the Ultramarines position. With just a whiff, Marneus' nostrils were filled with the scent of blood, freshly spilled.
"Lord Marneus, the first wave of orks have been defeated." - Caro Sicarius intruded.
"Very good, captain. Check the auspexes, how near is the next wave?"
"Semmingly closer than we expected, we have little time to prepare."
A shrill, distant "WaAaaAaGgH!" sounded from a distance. The orks were on their way.

Thanks Rawson. It was somewhat intentional to have some mud get on the lower parts of his gear but I guess it didn't work. Ah well!

I think you would need to add a lot more dirt and weathering (since there isn't really any ) to make it look intentional. But I like the brand-spanking-new look of these guys, so I wouldn't go that way...

@theQuanz:
I've used black, gray (Vallejo Heavy Bluegray, but I think it's the same, as Codex Gray), white and Badab Black wash. I've started with a mix of black and gray (about 30% black) as a base colour, then some gray blending over the higher areas for a highlight, a bit of Badab Black wash to smooth the transitioning colours and finished up with a really carefull white drybrash over the top. Basically, it's just a blending the dark gray into the light gray. I hope, my vague explanation will be helpful for you

As for my entry, I'm on my way to the finish line! The head is attached to the body and hands with the minigun are almost fully painted, so it's left only the backpack fixing/painting and glueing the bits together.

Ill never be done with my model in time...

I have returned home and made some progress. Need to pause now for a spot o' sleep, and then basing, a little more detailing, then off to priming and possibly a start on painting tomorrow.

3 more days and I have exams to study for. I don't know if my other entry will be finished in time. I've made minimal progress.

I highly doubt I will finish by the date. I doing a commision for imperial guard and unfortunetly, that is more important.

Damn, I only just found this thread, otherwise I'd have loved to enter. Maybe if you do more.

Good point.... Unfortunetly, and im just saying this because, My mom, being the wonderful person that she is, decided to clean my room (Not an insult) .... she acccidenty snagged a tisue on the talon of my Trygon...... It fell of the dresser and onto the floor......... it fell into 4 pieces and chipped the paint in several places. It will not be finished by the end of the date. It will take a while to fix. But thank you for the idea, I will definetly post work in progress pictures.

Well i'll post a few...

well...i am stuck atm with my steamknights... a case of burnout... the needed GS work i have to do to get the primer out to start painting them...it is not going to happen soonish... GS is atm a bit too much for me...

that´s why i am asking to change my entry... i have here the WIP pics of my gang of riveteers... the leaque of extraordinary riveters in person so to speak...

i have primed them just yesterday and toady i have begun to work some paint on them... will show progress pics tomorrow with some daytime pics as well...

here would be the conversion pics, if you would be able to accept them as substitutes for my former entries...



note: some parts /bitz are already painted in this pic...but they got recycled and thus get a serious repainting!

question, are you going to base them of of the real =]_,=, as in are you going to give one a Vost. Looking hat and then a catachan one and what not
