I actually very much like the look of the commandos.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

Wow, I love the alternative colour scheme for the Scourge... I could easily envisage myself playing them now as well!

The Praetorian sculpts are possibly the only sculpt I really don't like. It's good to put it in perspective though that anything of that size magnified will not hold up. My biggest gripe is that they really don't look any different to the standard marines just with a pair of night vision goggles.

Yep, looks like the P90 they also used for Stargate SG-1:

Also, keep in mind these are 10mm tall at best and they are true scale or better: slightly exxagerated true scale cause with 10mm you need to do it for it to look good on the table from a normal distance.

The models are very very lightweight, I think this one comes down to how well built the lightning flight stand is, however i'm guessing its just a display peice anyway.

Bear in mind folks that the pic for the infantry guys might be big, but they are only very slightly larger than epic scale, the base is a little smaller than a cavalry base.

Anybody looking for brilliant sculpts of infantry in a 10mm game is either a commie, Tom Kirby trying to sabotage this thread, or just looking for a good moan

I take back what I said. Who cares about the brilliant tanks, the brilliant paint jobs, the cool squid things? The 10mm infantry is rubbish. The world is falling in, and I'm off to join the marines

Get a grip people

When you consider the average person is 5 foot 9, and the average table height is around the 4 foot mark, who in their right mind is straining their eyes to see the the paint job on a squad of 10mm infantry? Am I worried that my opponent might notice that I haven't done the pupils of their eyes?

Hahahahaha, imo its a testament to how awesome this range is if the only thing i can pick on is a single infantry sculpt.

I agree, Vitruvian, and it's a fair criticism to say the latest tiny infantry (and really most of them) don't look quite as good as what we've seen prior. I personally think it's due to his hand sculpting those instead of doing it through CAD / etc. But I understand also that they're being blown up WAY more than the other models in these pics, and should look just fine on the table

Yes, the infantry in this 10mm game aren't quite up to the detail standards of the larger ships and tanks.

They still look good to me though!

I approve this message.

I mean how many other games have more then a SINGLE model that you dont like, or at least even if you dislike them you still say it is a good model? Most all of them I say. There has been VERY few games where all the sculps impress me. Infinity is one of the few I would say, and deffintly DZC

Unpainted UCM Colonial Legionnaries and PHR Immortals.

You can see more close ups here http://hobbybrush.com/blog/

Personally I like the UCM infantry which I find more detailed than the PHR one which look like some kind of astronauts with more dull surfaces.

It;s been a long time since I've wanted something this badly, it coincides perfectly with my descent from GW and their ridiculous pricing and what is sincerely not that great of an IP (40K).

Much as I like gun toting women in stealth suits, these are the first serious departure from the "hard science fiction" feel DZC has so far projected. Unless they have a good fluff justification of course.

Ghost in the Shell, I believe is cited as an inspiration for the PHR. And Major Motoko Kusanagi once explains her use of a supposedly weaker, female prosthetic body as being in part as 'sexual warfare': Using sexuality as part of a larger psychological warfare concept.

Obviously, this is somewhat of a moot point when deployed against Shaltari or Scourge, as presumably both species have their own concepts of beauty and sexual attraction (although the Sirens may use different bodies depending on who they're fighting, with the human one being chosen for the sculpt because the players are, probably, all human).

I can see why these pics were saved for last (or rather, he wasn't planning on doling them out, since he would've released the game tomorrow, perhaps!). I don't hate them, though... they are actually OK, I think. But pretty hilarious, in a sense!

Yup! I think a lot of people who are looking at this have solely gamed in 28/32mm scale. These infantry are fantastic for being 10mm.

meh.

The troop sculpts are not that good. but at this scale, they will just look like blobs with guns when you have them on the table and look at them a few feet away.

I'm going to second the probably Ghost in the Shell inspiration, as well as probably some inspiration from Borderlands's Siren class, a female with pistols, etc... in a black (possibly leather) getup.

So we'll see.

Which is still pretty awful. It doesn't affect me as I'll be using the mechs for 28mm, but that quote sums up why I will never play DZC.
