I say power gamer is the worst because they'll either do the following, buy into GW's new overpriced broken unit or grieve about it and buy it anyways.

Fluff players by far. I play a pick up game with one of my good lists, i want a good game vs a good player. As soon as the words ''My army is only for fun, dont expect me to win'' makes me want to pack up there and then. I dont play to auto win, i dont want to slaughter you because your army sucks. If you want to play fluff, play with someone who plays fluff, dont call me cheesey when my archon gets to Str10 because you feed him sanguary priests and punches in a landraider ''because that would never happen''.

I play to win, but the word play is just as important as the word win.

The one who tells you that the rule from your codex, which he has never read, is wrong.

Example:

My Orks call a WAAAGH! I explain what it does (fleet).

Reply: No, you're wrong. Fleet sucks in 6th. You can only use it with running units. He then proceeds to pull my codex from my hands and yank the book page by page until he finds the rule (which took an age), then has to look up fleet in his own rulebook before allowing me to proceed.

It was an irritating game.

The kind who doesn't play by the rules. Intentionally or accidental, it frustrates me. If you're cheating, I call you ot and the call the TO over. If it's accidental, I will be very frustrated. Also, +1 to people who don't shower. It lowers other peoples view of the hobby as a whole.

First of all: cheaters.

"Power players" - maybe. There's nothing wrong with bringing strong lists, but people with 3+ Vendettas or Cron-Air just make me sad.

The kind that think playing competitively is jerkish and stupid.

Also those that think Competitive and Fluffy are opposites(they arn't)

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

The kind that think that their way of playing is superior.

I'm a competitive player. It's what I enjoy. I could care less how "you 40k", but don't ride me for playing how "I 40k"

Not a fan of fluff players condemning Competitive players as "the worst type of player" because they game differently

though, nor am I a fan of competitive players condemning fluff players as "the worst type of player" because they game differently

Really, the only "bad" players are:

-Those with bad hygiene
-Those that cheat
-Those that don't know the rules/think they do but do not
-Those that are rude/unpleasant to be around
-Cats

Be a Fluffball, a Cheeseball, a Brony, or a Redneck, as long as you're not stinky, cheating, ignorant, or rude, I will happily play a game of 40k with you.

Bad winner/bad loser are the worst.

I can't stand gloaters or rage quitters. How well you lose says a lot about you - but how well you win, also speaks volumes.

Bad sportsmanship, by far. I don't care if you build fluff lists or hard lists, but don't be a jerk either way.

The jackass: the player who constantly fights with everyone about incorrect rules, uses a rule against you then denies your right to use the same rule (calling it cheating), and just makes everyone want to play something else. This player exists in all games, and shouldn't be playing games.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I answered power gamers, though it of course depends. But I hate it when you pick a unit that you like only for some self-appointed power gamer expert to start frothing at the mouth as to how and why the unit sucks so much. As if I don't know for myself.

People who blame the game or their dice for losing when it was their own bad decisions that lost them the game. Its not very fun playing against someone who spends the entire game complaining that their army is underpowered and yours is overpowered. In my experience very common among army jumpers.

Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Nekro, Shadowrun Returns, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, Planetary Annihilation, Project Eternity, Distance, Dreamfall Chapters, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Consortium, Divinity: Original Sin, Smart Guys, Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy, Armikrog, Massive Chalice, Satellite Reign, Cthulhu Wars, Warmachine: Tactics, Game Loading: Rise Of The Indies, Indie Statik, Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Cosmic Star Heroine, THE LONG DARK, The Mandate, Stasis, Hand of Fate, Upcycled Machined Dice, Legend of Grimrock: The Series, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, Cyberpunk Soundtracks, Darkest Dungeon, Starcrawlers

I have a KickStarter problem.

That said, I lost a game to a VC player in fantasy who rolled a 5 or 6 for EVERY regen save and his entire army had regen except 2 units of dogs. So in that case, yes, I could blame the dice. How do you kill something that makes every save? It was bad enough I questioned other players about him using loaded dice.

Other. I've met and played against some great power gamers, and I've met and played against some great fluff players. Equally, I've played against some pretty bad power gamers, and some pretty bad fluff gamers. Douchebaggery transcends how you like to play the game.

The obvious answer is "douche bag" players. No one wants to play against a rude or annoying opponent, no matter who you are.

My personal annoyance is players who refuse to play against certain armies or units. "I don't play against Necrons." or "I don't play against special characters."

I've lost numerous games due to the fact I rarely roll over a 3. Great for Leaderships and scatter. Horrible for everything else. However I won't quit just because the dice seem to hate me.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

On moon miranda.

Neither, Blood Angels players

To explain: My luck in drawing BA opponents has largely been awful, over multiple editions of this game, in multiple cities thousands of miles apart and probably sixty or so tournaments I've ever played in and pickup-gaming at least once a week typically, I've had one, maybe two games against Blood Angels where the guy wasn't

A: outright cheating

B: being a collosal jerk (oh hey I'm gonna take 2 stormravens in a 1250pt game against this new player on his 3rd game who hasn't bought almost any anti-tank/air units yet, or demands that you fully measure each of your movements/shooting but doesn't with his)

or C: forcing creative loopholes against obvious designer intent (e.g. the tail of end 5E where, if you read the smoke+scout rules with an FAQ ruling a certain way, Baal preds could pop smoke in their scout movement phase, shoot in their turn, and try to claim a cover save in the opponents first turn) and requiring TO intervention every game they tried it in.

I'm sure other people have had similar experiences with other armies, be it Tau, Necrons, IG, Eldar, etc. BA's are just "that one" army for me where I almost never have a fun opponent.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

Perhaps I wasn't entirely clear. Good and bad rolls happen all the time what Im talking about is situations like a player moving their marines out of cover then complaining that I got lucky with my AP3 large blast.

Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Nekro, Shadowrun Returns, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, Planetary Annihilation, Project Eternity, Distance, Dreamfall Chapters, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Consortium, Divinity: Original Sin, Smart Guys, Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy, Armikrog, Massive Chalice, Satellite Reign, Cthulhu Wars, Warmachine: Tactics, Game Loading: Rise Of The Indies, Indie Statik, Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Cosmic Star Heroine, THE LONG DARK, The Mandate, Stasis, Hand of Fate, Upcycled Machined Dice, Legend of Grimrock: The Series, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, Cyberpunk Soundtracks, Darkest Dungeon, Starcrawlers

I don't mind power gamers in general but this is the sort that I hate. I had a guy a few months ago see me setting up my Guard army, a list of entirely Russes and infantry platoons and he tells me, as if explaining to a child, "What you could do is take Veterans and put them in Chimeras for your troops. They can take three special weapons, you can use plasma to kill infantry and meltaguns to kill enemy tanks. It would probably be a lot more effective!". I'd never even seen this guy before, I was just sort of dumbfounded for a few seconds before I thanked him, told him I'd been playing Guard for about 10 years now and I play this sort of list for aesthetic reasons. He gave me a weird look, shrugged and walked away. The whole thing was just weird.

on the MOOOOOONNNNAAAHHHH

I would have to answer, the person who when they loose 1 model they think they have lost the game, in my local area we have a couple of these, they are THE worst kind of player to have a game against as any level of fun you were going to have is lost the moment you start winning or even if you kill the thing they were relying on to win the game for them they just give up and ruin your fun

another thing i would say is the kind of player who cannot take a joke, i honestly don't know why these people even play as it is a game, even if you play it competitively there is a sense of humour needed to make it enjoyable.

in general i dislike anyone who removes any sense of fun from the game, i play for fun when if i play competitively its not to win it is purely for the joy of playing the game and having fun.

Imperial Guard 3000+ points
