Here is a full battalion of battlemechs I did for a friend. I was going for a pre heresy Death Guard look. For the concept I think they came out great... for 40k. Maybe not so much for battletech. The panel lines didn't come out anywhere near as well as I wanted but meh. You win some... you lose some. These are the only photos I took of them... so no close ups.

The original boxes they came in.

Oh my god! This made me grin like a damn fool. You have an original Battlemaster! Two Warhammers and a Marauder!?

Also, hell yes to the Awesome. That and the Zeus were my go-to 'Mechs for a long time (can you tell I played a Steiner?).

All those boxes - so great!

If you want to pick out panel lines, give them a wash or use a .005 pen to line them in.

Bringing back the old days - a whole regiment of Eridani Light Horse built and painted unseen. Wish I still had them. You need to pick out some details.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

Lets make those even Rarer. They are the ones that Ral Partha tried out in a plastic resin hybrid.

You can see pics of them when I started working on them here. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/501777.page

Like I said... these are for a friend, not mine. I personally can't stand Battletech as a game. Too much like Scan-tron: The Game for my tastes.

Aw man, you are kidding me! Too awesome.

As for Scan-tron - it is not what I think of as a beginner's game and the level of detail in each battle is absurd. It is for those who want a lot more realism in their Sci-Fi Giant Robot games. That being said, I feel you on that. It is an ordeal printing out sheets (or laminating some) and whatnot, but the game is what I started miniature gaming with when I was in Middle School and I will always love it.
