People were discussing about quality, taste, paint job etc in the News and Rumors section and I thought It would be more appropriate here.

So here's a place to complain or applaud figures.

I'm not sure if the HMG Metro would have been as good without the hoodie. But he looks bad ass.

I'm glad CB is re-making some figures now but I don't like boxed sets. I can't afford all of them! :(

I can't like Kestril's post enough.

Although of all the models I own... I have to say the Trauma-Doc is my favourite. The way she is sculpted, and her beret, makes her such a nice "40s nurse" model.

One of my recently dicovered favorites has to be the Skiavoros. Such a great miniature.

Utter dislike goes to the minuteman.

I think the minuteman (minutewoman in this case) model is good, it is the pose that it really bad.

worst model goes to Dozer with Akrylat Cannon, terrible pose, terrible sculpting. The face looks so bad!!

My favorite model is the Highlander SAS with Boarding Shotgun. Sculpting and pose is awesome

Worst models for me are the Najjarun and the Ghulam Doctor. Here's to hoping that they'll release a Haqqislam support pack with new sculpts.

Best for me is the Ghulam girl and the Al Hawwa sniper. They're feminine without being overtly sexual and they have functional wardrobe.

I really was like "what!?" with that Najjarun head.

Wholeheartedly agree. Those two plus the male Muttawi'ah are the only Haqqislam models I don't like.

As for my favourites it's a hard choice between the badass arms folded Hafza, the male Fiday with his understated pose, the simple dynamism of the HMG Ragik or the awesome shooting pose of the sniper Djanbazan.

From other factions honourable mentions also go to the Cutter, HMG Hac Tao, T2 Rifle Veteran Kazak, female Interventor, Raicho and Post Human Proxy Mk2.

Also according to the O-12 podcast we can expect the standard Support repacks (Doctor, Engineer, 2x G:Servant remotes) but with Doctor and Engineer resculpts for Haqqislam some time in April I think.

Some of the scale discrepancy between the older and newer models puts me off a bit. Love the Djans, but their heads are twice the size of a Muyib's.

I love all the Muyibs. I just picked up the spitfire blister and the minelayer Muyib is just awesome. Same with the Hafzas.
Sekban is excellent, I'm looking forward to more of those.
Azrail with the fuerbach is probably one of my favourite models, so I'm looking forward to not having time to paint him sometime soon.

The whole merovingian line is excellent. The bulk of the Ariadna minis are great, with most of the duds being older models.

I think there's some obvious older models that weren't sculpted with the same level of skill and experience, and then there's newer models that are generally great and are liked or disliked based on taste.

Not a fan of the PanO fusiliers in general, I think having them helmeted would be a nice change from other factions line troops. I've never liked the HMG Aquila Guard model.
The Cav model really needs a resculpt to bring it back in line with the newer TAGs.

Compare the starter Fiday with any Muyyib, it's the same. That's just how it is. With the new, smaller weapons, we will see even more differences between the models.

Speaking of scale. I rather like the female Spektr miniature but it's ridiculously out of scale. Has anyone else picked up on that?

I like to think sometimes it's just a smaller or taller person. Especially in a racially mixed force like Nomads for PanO. Think of a tall Norwegian next to a small Filipino.

Ye, sometimes it makes sense. I also like to have an explanation in my head - after all, these are my soldiers and what's most important is that I like them.

In the case of Fidays and Ragiks, my reasoning is that they're pumped full with steroids

I prefer to come up with a reason too. Sadly, that Spektr is very hard to excuse. She just looks bigger in every way, a straight up scale issue. Luckily her low down pose disguises the fact quite well.

What's a Spektr? I haven't seen one or I may have missed it. Oh my.

Beautiful model but it's scale doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Agreed, beautiful miniature so it doesn't really bother me. I'm converting her to a Zero right now just so I can fit her into my Heralds list.

I like the Ghulam Doctor. I think it's a case where Angel really didn't do it any favours - this one on CMON showed me it could be a very nice model if it didn't have orange skin and pink hair.

I've yet to get around to mine, and while I will end up doing some tweaking (probably a boob reduction, along with some attempts to make the model more uniquely "mine"), I feel it's aged well for one of the oldest remaining Haqq models.

The Najjarun I do dislike. Mine will probably be a conversion of the Foxtrot sniper into a model somewhat inspired by Kaylee from Firefly (if ever now needed, given the KTS' arrival).

Wow this is a tough thing to choose!

I really like this Reverend Custodier (and actually the Chimera in the background of that pic - despite me thinking I had some hands missing from that boxset, and writing to CB about it, only to find I already had that piece when they arrived - sorry complaint code 256 guy : )

And this Orc trooper (as well as the male version), just because they were the first mini that I noticed that was associated with this game (and thought, 'awesome, Appleseed!')

Hmm.. worst miniatures?

Don't really like the Croc-Men for Pan O, and definitely think some of the early Ariadna Heavy Infantry guys could do with new versions.

Although it's all relative I suppose - take a look at this thread http://chestofcolors.com/25-worst-miniatures-ever-made/

That's an interesting point actually - I guess the important thing is that the miniatures are in proportion, in terms of them not having one massive legs or feet or something!

Oh yeh, favourite model for me might be the Chimera actually. Amazing model. Not sure I'm doing it justice with my conversion but we shall see.

Here's a really nice paint job on her:

I actually like the Ghulam doctor. There's nothing special about it, but it's not bad. The Najjarun is hideous and should be stricken from the face of the Earth.

Or just use Husam as a proxy.

I can agree there. They should be in proportion to themselves at least. Not necessarily to others I feel. It's not like in this game too, that figs are so out of proportion that they don't get cover. Bit hard with the Noctifer on the stairs though...

I've just seen this.

Got to be my favourite yet. Was looking at possibilities for a second army and I like a lot of the shasvasti models, really disappointed that this model doesn't belong in that sect. That would've been decision made.

What about the possibility of just using a standard CA list that has a lot of Shasvastii in it ? (Is that possible? Haven't seen what the allowance is of them).

That miniature is awesome, just noticed the Aleph head on the base

Yeah, kinda looking at a list like this....

Combat Group #1
Anathematic Lieutenant (87|0)
Speculo Killer (39|1)
Caliban D Feuerbach (32|2)
Seed-Soldier Combi (14|0)
Seed-Soldier Combi (14|0)
Gwailo MULTI (32|0)
Gwailo Spitfire (31|1.5)
Noctifer Spitfire (30|1.5)
Combat Group #2
Preta Chain (5|0)
Preta Chain (5|0)
Preta Chain (5|0)
Preta Chain (5|0)

299/300 points | 6/6 swc

Mostly just the models I like, all shasvasti except the pretas and the anathematic. I like how it's mostly shasvasti for fluffy reasons. The low availability of models like the Noctifier (Ava 1) in the general ca list is a bit of a shame, but i suppose it's an ok trade off if I can get the anathematic.

I use the anathematic model as a proxy for a sphinx TAG. I dont like the model at all. Its the spindly legs i hate most. The only thing i dont like about the anathmatic is the tenracles coming out of his head. I moved them to come out of his back instead.

This is how I justify the older sculpts. The older models are more burly people - maybe they spend some time hitting the weights? Maybe they're just naturally bigger? The newer sculpts are just smaller people. Personally, I'm 6'4". I have a friend who is about 5' nothing and built like a little girl. Put both of us in Jannisaire armour, and I'm going to look like the original AP Rifle or HMG guy, and my friend would look closer to the AP Rifle model in the starter.
