And the last of its kind for me! I do not want to deal with any more of these

The horror stories are endless. It's bad enough that half the parts were miscast, but what really killed me was the missing/wrong parts to begin with.

The last straw was just as I was about to do the final assembly. That's when I found out there were two left front wings. Yeah, that made me really happy to slice up a fully painted wing, reverse it, and repaint it. This was after getting a total of 3 right engines before they finally sent me a left.

I might have been a headache to make, but the result is gorgeous. As far as I'm concerned, it looks grand! I love that eagle head on the side and the fact that it looks like it's been in operation non-stop for centuries.

It appears this was well worth all the pain and effort. Such a beautiful piece of work you have there.

I agree you have made this a stunning success but after reading your comments and seeing several others in the same boat with the terrible quality on the storm eagle I will sadly be taking it off my wishlist for future FW purchases.

For such high-priced resin (compared to non-GW owned companies) I'd expect a much better quality control process.

Incredible job on the yellow. Such a smooth paint job. The weathering looks authentic but not overwhelming. Very well done.

I'm glad you guys liked this one... I have more images on the way! :-)

It was just so painful to make. I am going to tray and scratch build one of these to see how much easier it will be.

I have lots of extra parts from the plastic kits...

This is amazing looking, but I'm so glad mine wasn't a headache to build. The only really miscast part of it was the part you slot the base into...

Every time I see a stormeagle thread, everyone says how much of a pita it is to assemble, to the point where I cant justify getting one anymore.

This one is just superb, love the colour and the weathering. Great job

I hate to nitpick such a nice model, but the unpainted engine bits are really letting it down.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Looks amazing!

Also its strange, I hear so many horror stories about storm eagles, yet my brother's one was almost perfect apart from a small warpage that just needed some hot water love

Sadly, none of these are mine.

On the plus side, I would not have my Tomb Kings army or the Dark Eldar as a result of teaming up with this buyer, so seeing all the Imperial Fists figures go to a good home is not so bad

The one regret I always have is that I don't get the chance to photograph these things together. The two Storm Eagles set out on a nice terrain board, with all the terminators, Rapiers and the Land raider would make a heck of an image!!!!

I just can't stop looking at how incredibly well all your stuff is painted. Did you use an airbrush at all for this?

Many thanks for the kind words!

No, no airbrushes involved I use #6 and #4 filbert brushes for the majority of the surface, using flow improver here and there to get some wet blending and such. The bigger brushes not only allow you to work very rapidly, they have a feathered edge, so it is almost like using an airbrush.

The true benefit is in the chiseled edge, which means that you can also do some fine work along the edges. You don't need to take the time to mask anything! No airbrush equipment to clean afterwards.

I used to work with airbrushes all the time, and I hated cleaning them.

She is beautiful (I assume it's female) the yellow is wonderful and crisp, and the weathering just compliments the whole model, not overdone and consistent across the whole model.

Congratultions on such a beautiful model
