Very welly written batrep and an enjoyable read.

Just wanted to point out a few errors.

1. DP's can't take Divination. Thus no Precog for the DP.

2. Perfect Timing can only be cast on the psyker's own unit. Thus no PT on the fire prism.

I think the Nurgle Herald had Grimoire? Anyways, beautiful table/models and well written report.

I love the oldschool gobbo green bases on the scorpions... Hahaha. Every base looked like that in the 90's.. Had a good moment of nostalgia there.

Damn, not much of a contest ....

...but a beautiful battle! Splendid photography, atmospheric scenery, and two gorgeous armies. Thanks for the visual feast.

And thanks as well for an early look into the dynamics of the new Eldar codex.

Haha Christ those Daemons suck... Almost tabled in turn 2... That's just embarrassing. Did you even enjoy such a game?

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

Thanks! Inspired by yours mostly!

1. Whoops! Thought they could.

2. I actually knew this rule, but forgot. Didn't make a huge difference to the outcome.

They're brilliant, aren't they. Such a 90's army...

Not sure bout the photography, but I aim to please.

That's the problem with Daemons, all their points go into the FMCs who either win big or fail horribly. I just got lucky in this instance. Every game against them is enjoyable, because they're so unpredictable.

Great report and beautiful pics!

One minor thing that I overlooked for years playing Eldar, the Wraithlords Flamers arent Twin-linked. They actually have two seperate ones, which is kind of nice for wracking up a lot of hits. 9-)

I didnt see it but did you ever use the WS new weapon that ignores cover? I think I will have to use Scatter Lasers on all of my WSs just to make everything Twin linked.

I used the scatter laser on my Wraithlord to twin-link them. Awesome, isn't it?

Of course he can only shoot two weapons, but it's still nice in this scenario with a MC target, though against infantry I'd almost always just shoot both flamers.

Great battle! Both of you ran into some nasty luck early on, but it looks like it hit the daemons harder. I loved the battle with the Striking Scorpions, it perfectly emphasized how brutal the whole match was.

Were you using Venoms for Vypers?

Also, where did you get that tabletop? Is there somewhere I could get one? I really like it...

I wish I had one of those gaming mats too! it looks great with the terrain.

It looks like it's surrvived the test of time as I believe it's make out of paper? GW released those mats ages ago with Cities of death ?
.. but they sold out instantly.

Panic...

Excellent reports with great pictures on lovely terrain - thanks!

Your report seems to match up with my fights against the Eldar so far. Their shooting seems to be very effective - whereas before they were something of a combined arms force, now it's only the Scorps that fight in CC. The real Eldar strength is in very good firepower, made even better by being able to back away from the enemy to get more turns of shooting.

Follow the White Scars Fifth Brotherhood as they fight in the Yarov sector - battle report #7 against Eldar here
