Hi all, Wasn't sure where to post this, it seemed half reasonable here.
I changed my ISP sometime back, since then its shown my little flag as USA, where it should be UK.
Its not a biggie hence I've left it so far, but it got noticed earlier someone picked up that I'm from the UK with the shops and products I was referring to in a thread and questioned where I was from hehe

Done. You may need to log out and in again to see the change.

Indeed, I have noticed that this morning.
It did show as UK for a short time just after it was changed. I guess my IP address has changed again or something like that. If theres a way to permanently lock it to UK that would be cool, if its going to keep changing again and again... dont worry lol its not that big a deal.

why not put it in your sig or profile?? this might be a problem out of dakka"s hands....

Dakka can manually set users flags. So like KillKrazy can have a Japanese flag even though he's currently in the UK because he spent considerable time in Japan. Just requires a pm to a mod or a thread like this

Presumably you have logged out/in? Also, clear your cache (might help!)

Just put "Location: UK" in your profile =)

I have logged out and back in, and again just now with a cache and cookies clear out.

Weird. It's very definitely locked to UK in your profile.

Might be something to do with the server... it might need to wait until the server restarts at some point to reload to the database or something. That's not really my area of expertise, though...

It takes quite a while to update as the flag is only reloaded when the server is reloaded or when your user is cleared out of cache. The change has been made, so dont worry, but it will take a little while to appear. Once it updates on our system, all of your old posts will have the UK flag as well.

Again, it changed to UK briefly,I definatly noticed it a few hours ago, and now has changed back lol. Don't mean to be a pain but something seems amiss...

Well...I got an alternative solution for the problem, pretty sure it will work.

Hehehe I suppose that would solve the problem, but then I'd have a new problem (being in the USA)... British politics are bad enough... no need to go the whole hog now eh hehehehe (I joke, but seriously theres only one country in the world I'd consider moving to right now, which is Iceland because theyre the only ones to try and do something about the banksters)

It will glitch back and forth until the server is restarted whenever I do a full release, unless you stay off dakka completely for a couple of weeks to let the cache clear
