We have just posted a brand new revision of the Block War supplement. As usual, there are all sorts of tweaks and changes, but the highlights include;

* The Zombie Horde now has access to Super Zombies!
* Altered rewards in the rulebook campaigns.
* Dark Judges have revised rules and stats.
* New mercenaries - Chopper, Spikes Harvey Rotten, and War Marshal Kazan.
* Exorcist Judge can now have a go at exorcising the Dark Judges (may Grud have pity on his soul!).
* Mechanismo have new weaponry.
* Mob rules tweaked to curb excesses.
* New Talent trees for bikers and Leaders of Men.
* Famous Firefights - a brand new chapter that lets you play out famous battles from the comic strip. We kick off with a tough fight from the First Robot War and a smattering of punch-ups from the reign of Chief Judge Cal!

As always, you can grab a copy from;

Yes, but remember this is a book-in-progress. Once we (and you!) are happy with it, we'll prepare the print edition.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. The new figures have been trickling out every so often since shortly after the KS was completed. Original completion dates were Nov-Dec last year. Still quite a few of the new figures to go. Updates on the figures/fulfilment were pretty frequent until March when the tank was shown, but have gone quiet since then. Mongoose moved part of their manufacturing from the US to the UK to consolidate it all in one place. Matt keeps an eye on this thread. April updates were a rules update (the one posted above doesn't seem to have been a KS update, just posted here on Dakka?) and an ad for the Meerkat card game KS.

Wow. That makes 2 1/2 months since anything on the figures Mark - probably time to send out a KS update about what's happening, mate!

There's been quite a few updates in the comments section rather than the updates section.

Recent figures out have been:

World Judges * 8 (I think 8)
Chief Judge Hershey
Mechanismo (starting to ship)
Travis Perkins & Galen Di Marco (starting to ship)
Exorcist Judge (starting to ship in small numbers)

Some of the Ultimate Lawbreakers have been painted up by one of the 'official' painters, so that should mean they've been mastered and start producing in the next few weeks.

The resin vehicles seem to be a bit of a moveable target on starting production - Manta and PAT Wagon have prototypes around but production moulds are in progress and Matt keeps updating with edging towards these going into 'proper' production.

On the Dark Judges, Shane Hoyle is the sculptor and Matt has received 3 out of the 4 basic Judges and is awaiting the 4th and the 4 spirit forms (he's said once that it was Fire that wasn't done and once that it was Fear, so I'm not sure which is right) . Shane Hoyle is known to not be very punctual at the moment (I don't know the real world issues or particularly want to), but his quality is worth the wait.

Edit for spelling

Huh, well I didn't know that. Thank you for letting us know.

To Matt - frankly, doing that is fething useless. It's been 2 1/2 months - send out a proper update, even if it's just a compilation of the stuff from the comments section. No issues with communicating with backers via the comments, but if there are actual updates, send them out properly. At this point I have 30 backed projects - 3 of which have fully delivered, and one of those with issues that need to be sorted out) so the last thing I have time to do is troll comments sections to see if creators have actually said anything.

I know I've been unthrilled by the lack of progress on this. Last package I received was January. Information is spradic, and what information we do receive is usually blowing smoke or just total BS.

Matt is usually pretty responsive to emails and issues. It's just that updates have been lacking for awhile. And the Avatars of War method of using Facebook and/or forums and comments rather than the KS update email system built into the thing isn't exactly best practice.

There's an absurd amount of companies that don't quite understand that most people don't look in KS comments, that most KS info they get is from the update emails. It's really frustrating.

I've gotten three packages so far... I think I'm only missing a bike gang, judges of the world, dark judges, some characters, and a pat-wagon now.

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Hi guys,

Point taken on the Comments vs. Updates. I'm just compiling some info on the state of the US backers and their shipments (we are pretty much up to speed on dispatches from the UK), and another update will be on its way. Got some 'big' news coming in the world of Dredd gaming, so stay tuned for that - if you are playing the game (as opposed to collecting the miniatures), you will not want to miss this one.

We will soon be making the switch to dispatching packages for US backers from the UK too which will (rather perversely, I know) speed things up hugely.

As for the Dark Judges, we now have the Spirit Forms too, and are just waiting for Judge Fire. He was completed, but Shane decided it was not up to standard, so it was begun again. Apparently we will see it very soon, when we get news, we'll let you know.

Resin vehicles have indeed been a moving target. Their production has now moved over to the UK, and we are just waiting for the final two moulds to be completed for the Manta - was supposed to have been done 3 weeks ago, but issues happened. The Pat Wagon moulds are also in progress, and the Banshee will be lightning fast compared to these two. Fingers crossed that Manta production starts for real next week. VaS ships have already started to appear from the facility and they are looking good, so we have high hopes for the Dredd range.

The Ultimate Lawbreakers are indeed at an advanced state, and they are currently in a race with the Specialist Judges. However, these will now all be produced in the UK and we are just getting the final ducks in a row on this one.

This project _has_ taken longer than we anticipated/hoped for/dreamed of and, for that, we apologise deeply. Several unexpected things have happened a long the way to make this so (production move across the Atlantic, for one), but that is neither here nor there really. Please accept that we are going full speed on Dredd now and that the future looks bright in Mega-City One.

You didn't bother addressing this on the Kickstarter, so I'll take a shot here. How long are you going to be promising US people stuff "soon"?

Let's recap your comments about the state of the US shipping:

May 21st: "As I said earlier, aside from a few tasks here and there, the US guys have been set with doing nothing but servicing Kickstarter backers for the next month or so, so you should see another package coming your way soon, bringing you up to date."

May 30th: "I will have an update on US backers soon."

June 12th: "Next week, I will be updating US and Canadian backers as to what they can expect and when."

June 24th: "Please bear with us for just a tad longer, and I will do a grand update that will bring everyone up to speed on everything we are doing."

June 25th: "... more on the US this week".

And look, again with the "I'm just compiling some info on the state of the US backers and their shipments ... and another update will be on its way."

Seriously? How about some honestly and accountability to your backers for a change? You've been dodging this question for almost 2 months now.

Part of me wants to take this statement in good faith, but the other part simply shrugs to myself and thinks, "when is that, 2014?". Honestly, at this point you've burnt the sum total of my goodwill and I'm pretty sure the process of collating this information couldn't be slower than if you were using stone tablets and cuneiform.

Still nothing? Are you communicating with the US team by carrier pigeon?

I think the communication issue has been pretty rough. It would have done a solid to at least have some consecutive update on how the project went. Along with the spotty release, the way so far that this has been communicated doesn't do anyone any favors.

Telling people over and over that you are going to eventually get around to an update point in fact p!@@#'s people off. Even so much as a "Hey, we got so and so up, here is an update," or "Go to the site to see so and so" would have been better then what has been shown on the KS page.

I get that you think that a one liner here and there is going to do the trick, but honestly, you are supposed to be keeping people up on how this project is progressing. So far, it makes it look like you don't control it and honestly makes it look like you are not really trying.

Some steady conversation on this can fix that.

Yeah,
Dudes it's an Indy company that's raised funds for a project.

Things have been slow but we are gonna get the rewards for helping the project!
I accept that some things are beyond speeding up.

I'm waiting for the dark judges, mongoose say their happening so I'm happy!?

Although seeing the greens of the ones that are complete would make me happier!

(this will be going in the forthcoming update for Kickstarter backers, which I am looking to post tomorrow...)

We have had three Dark Judges in, along with all four 'spirit forms.' All seven of those models have flashed through our office and are currently being put into moulds - we are expecting metals in our hands within the next week or so. The sculptor is currently finishing Judge Fire and we are hoping to see it any day now.

These models will be worth waiting for and, for my opinion, rank right up there as some of the best models in the entire range. Pictures will be coming as soon as they get a lick of paint.

There will be an announcement made tomorrow (likely late morning/early afternoon UK time) that will (finally) explain what has been going on behind the scenes for the Judge Dredd miniatures game - it all links in with our transferring production over the water to here in the UK. Lots of good news for KS backers, lots of new things for everyone else and, I hope, it will explain why we have had to be a little quiet of late. After tomorrow, we get chatty again.

The KS backers served by the team here in the UK are pretty much up to speed on everything, as there has been a constant flow of models going out (off the top of my head, I believe we need to get the last five rulebooks out plus sort out a small handful of mis-shipments). This covers pretty much everyone except US and Canadian backers.

As for the US and Canadian backers, some of you have your items, others we know we have let you down since the end of the Kickstarter - we deeply apologise for that. As I said above, production is moving from the US to the UK and you too will now be dealt with by the UK team, receiving the same service as everyone else. I am personally going through the US Kickstarter records. Everyone up to and including Wally Squad level will be current with the UK as of tomorrow (we use an express service to ship to the US and Canada, so it should just be a few days before you see items, US Customs not withstanding). This means Judges of the World, Galen DeMarco (as PI), Travis, single Mechanismo, and all the other recent bits and pieces. I'll have dates for everyone above Wally Squad level in the US/Canada either tomorrow or early next week, bringing them up to the same level.

Let us get out the announcement tomorrow (I promise, things will start making a lot more sense after that), and we will start having solid dates of what you will see and when.

We are delighted to announce an agreement between these two progressive games companies that will see Warlord Games exclusively manufacture and distribute Mongoose Publishing’s Judge Dredd miniatures game.

Managing Director of Mongoose Publishing, Matthew Sprange: “This is a great step for the Judge Dredd miniatures game as we believe Warlord is the premier miniatures company and we have always been huge fans of their work. We have known the chaps working there for many years and look forward to working closely within them for many more.”

Paul Sawyer of Warlord Games: “We are very excited to be working with our old friend Matt on taking the Judge Dredd game to a wider audience . Many of us at Warlord are rabid Dredd and 2000AD fans and are looking forward to helping build on the solid platform built by the Mongoose team”.

Plans are already well underway for the range to be reorganised and repackaged as well as having a welter of new releases added. There are already plans for a hardback rulebook amongst other new additions. For more information about the Judge Dredd line or either company check out our websites:

Yay.

Now, a week later, still no real information on the state of US shipping at higher pledge levels, other than the oft-repeated "soon", and apologies (again) about it NOT happening. I'm tired of your apologies. How about actual dates instead of more BS?

Does this mean you are Starship Trooping this game?

What exactly are we talking about here, and what exactly does this do for the project at hand?

You might be excited, but I'm a little concerned based on past performance.

I haven't even gotten a hardback rulebook before you star selling me on one from a completely different company.

I think your over reacting Grot (though I note your feelings on ST on previous threads). I hope this is good news, worse case Mongoose have realised they have a behemoth on their hands and have brought in some help to deliver.

This looks like a partnering which one would hope will mean good things for the JD game. Warlord are very well placed to produce plastic and large vehicle kits which are right up JDs alley.

Note: I now expect a plastic kit for a Kneepad emporium, Jump to it Warlord!

I like this news of merging Judge Dredd with Mongoose as I like the plastic models they produce for there other games (such there WWII range), will this mean we will get plastic Judges and vehicles as well as scenery from Warlord Games?
