With what seems to be an eternity of waiting, I was wondering what people would add to make Space marines a viable opponent of the new codexs.
As a person who loves to play extremely fluffy, I have thought out a couple of things I wish would be included with the new SM codex.
These are some of what I would like to see,,....but know I wont.

Ultramarines: Since they are the most diplomatic, or were, it would be nice to see a bonus reflected in the options of mixed armys. Maybe allow two instead of just one.
another option is that since they are not as xenophobic as their brother chapters, weapon options from other codexs, land raiders with railcannons anyone.. just kidding

I also have some ideas for Raven Guard in terms of initiative altering and assaults as troops.

I'm sick of massive walkers and mechs. They're shaping the look of the entire game far too much and at this point they're not imaginative or creative at all.

I'd like Chaplains, Captains and Chapter Masters that don't suck. In terms of new units I'd like a battle tank that actually makes the point that Space Marines are given the best equipment, another artillery piece with AP3/2 oomph and something to compliment SM mech lists, like a new cheap HQ choice or Rhino-chassis transport variant.

I like the way the SM codex is organised. Some balancing issues need to be addressed, but overall the one thing I'd like to see is force multipliers. Whether they come in the form of war gear or special characters I don't mind. I love them, and hope that they're a major inclusion in the new codex.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I would like to see all the space marine colours in one book, with each of the main flavours having their individual units and special characters/rules/unit caps/etc.

I'd add more survival psychic buffs and or special buffs as marines in this day and age are just not survivable anymore and being genetic badasses and as an elite army, they need better protection to stay competitive

The power generator is a good idea from DA

I feel like we're missing crazy spells like the following:

"blah blah" - blessing - enemy units that choose to shoot at this unit reroll successful to hit rolls

or maybe - enemies must reroll successful to wound rolls.

"blah blah 2" - enemies that want to shoot at this unit must roll a ldr check. The unit's being shot also rolls a ldr check. If the shooter fails their ldr they do not get to fire. If the unit being fired upon fails, they immediately fall back 3' but the enemy gets to fire. If both sides pass their ldr check, Compare the two results and if the marines total is higher than the shooting unit, the shooting unit must pick another target to shoot at. If there are no other targets, the shots are lost and the unit does not count as firing their weapons.

I think that might go against the fluff. I kinda agree with the main divisions of chapters because they do not all adhere to the Astrates Codex created by the ultramarine primarch.

If these existed, I would jump at the idea of putting together that Crimson Fists army even quicker.

Also, do with Techmarines what Dark Angels did. That is, make them an HQ choice, one can be taken for every HQ choice that isn't another Techmarine but he doesn't take up and HQ slot.

- Troop sternguard via Traits or other system (Chapter Master making Sternguard troops, with jumpack, vanguard instead)

- Cheaper Vanguard Veterans

- Chapter Trait system. I want my Blood Ravens back; just let me take an extra librarian or something else for flavour to differentiate non-Ultramarines.

- No SC reliance. If you want to use Imperial Fists, you shouldn't have to use Lysander, as an example.

- Chapter Master and Honour Guard to not suck for their cost.

- Plastic Stern/Vanguard kit, ala Grey Knight box.

- NO MONSTROUS CREATURES

- Modernized plastic tactical squads

- Buff dreadnoughts. Maybe give assault cannons an extra shot or two, maybe an extra attack, something to make a model other than the rifleman dread or Ironclad worth taking.

Marine really don't need new units, they do, however, need new models; lots of their range is finecrap, or really old plastic well below modern standards with serious mold line and detail blurring issues.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

The Dark Angels codex was an excellent preview to Codex: Space Marines, I think. Cheap & flexible tactical squads, cheap Devastators, Flak missiles.

In addition, Death Watch. I'd totally add that. They'd be similar to Sternguard, but with relentless and can add a psycher sergeant. Yeah. I'd totally add that!

I would like to see greater customisation on a squad level, like give the sergeant an option like +15 points, all marines in this squad have CCW/Bolt Pistol as well as Boltgun. +35 Sergeant is now Apothecary. + 30 The unit now has RAGE/Furious Charge. Or Chapter Masters able to install their own custom Chapter Tactics for 100 points.

I would also like to see multiple, uber cheap, paper thin glass cannon vehicles for scouts, like AV 11/9/9 jeeps for scouts, can sit 5 men, and have a twin linked autocannon on the back of it similar to the warthog from Halo.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Dreadnoughts become T6 2+ MC's instead of walker vehicles
