Anyone have a good suggestion for a gloss spray on varnish? Spray can that is, not airbrush.

You must really love your models, darefsky...
Test ors worked well, for me, but wasn't worth the price tag, stink, and dry time over an acrylic varnish, since I'd be using Dullcote over the top, anyway. Now, I use Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss. Honestly, I've yet to try a gloss spray that didn't behave at least reasonably well (unlike matte sprays, which I find to be far more hit and miss), so I wouldn't be terribly concerned about the brand.

Krylon for me!
If it's super important, or durability matters a little more than usual, I'd go hit the automotive store and grab a rattle-can of high gloss from them.

I do love my models. As to the price I buy it at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon so it comes out to like $3 a can.

I do the same thing at Michaels for my Dullcote. Still a higher price per volume than most, but not necessarily unjustifiably so. Regardless, that first bit was intended as a joke, based on an unfortunate typo in your previous post.

I've been using Testors Semi-Gloss varnish on my Necrons. Testors Dullcoat was too flat for my taste, dulling the metalics I used to paint my 'Crons. I found that the Semi-Gloss was perfect, keeping the metallic shine on the figures that the Dullcoat took away and it puts a bit of a gloss on the non-metallic colors on the fig. It may be more expensive but I don't mind paying the extra cash, plus the smaller cans are easier for me to use.

I tried Testes but I made a balls of the paint job.
I too prefer Testors and have found plasticote to be quite reasonable.

I use Plasti-Kote.
You have to be careful if spraying it on top of metallic inks, and other non-acrylic paints/varnishes that aren't rock hard dried.
If spraying on metallic inks I varnish the ink bits by brush with acrylic varnish.
