Jedi:
I love this matchup. Bolter shells are explosive... when a shell hits a lightsaber beam, it'll detonate. Open up on a Jedi, he attempts to block, and each round that's on target will either blow up in his face or straight-up hit and kill him. If he makes it into close combat he'll be riddled with shell fragments. In close combat, it depends on the Marine's armament. Ceramite could probably offer some protection against lightsabers(ceramics absorb a LOT of heat) and power weapons would probably block a lightsaber blade... a chainsword wouldn't do much, but even then the Marine has size, strength and endurance... and a Jedi isn't THAT much faster than an enhanced Astartes. I see the marine taking a lot of damage and potentially losing a limb or two, but battering his way through. Group-to-group, the Space Marines would leverage firepower... not a chance.

BoS power armor didn't have any of those weak spots(though it would still suck in comparison to SM armor) in 1 or 2 and they had plenty that would pierce SM armor. Plasma weapons, gatling laser, Vindicator gatling gun, Gauss Rifle, the old powercell that used microfusion cells for ammo.....

Rest, I heartily agree with XD

Yeah, but couldn't the Jedi forsee the SMs attacks? Plus you completely forgot about force powers. A Jedi could just pull the bolter out of the SMs hands before he could react.

So, I was in this place people call the mall a while back. And I had the urge to expel some bad spirits. As I went into the bathroom, I chose the urinal closes to the corner so I could have some privacy. So I whip out Lord Pevincy and let him loose the bad spirits. Well, I was looking at the wall as the Lord was expelling the spirits and I seemed to have gotten distracted. Turns out, I missed a little.

SO I'm sitting at my computer right, and I have a Coke, Bottled mind you. But it got warm, so I got a Coffie cup and I filled it with the coke and some Ice and I sipped as I did my internet stuff. So like and hour passed and I hadn't sipped any of it. and when I go to sip it, I notice that something solid is in it. So I'm like, "No, why would there be something solid in my coke?" SO I pull these solid THINGS off my tongue and guess what they are? F ING ANTS! I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And so I ran into the Kitchen coughing and what not and I threw those little bastards down the drain with a flood of hate and cold water.......those bastards are lucky I don't have my Nucians yet!!!

On the Starcraft space marines, they have plenty of stopping power. Consider this:

2.1 x 10^5 J: Single round of depleted uranium from an A-10 Warthog's GAU-8 rotating cannon (1,800 rpm) = 50 grams TNT equivalent (taken from Boom Table -> http://www.projectrho.com/rocket/rocket3x1.html)

Now, that pierces the armor of most modern armored vehicles, except for the newest main battle tanks.

The Starcraft Space Marines all utilize the C-17 Gauss Rifle (if I recall correctly, I don't have the main book with me). As seen in the game/book, this fires depleted uranium munitions in 5 round bursts, TO PREVENT OVERHEATING, meaning that the munitions are moving through the barrel at extremely high speeds (also extrapolated from the fact that these are gauss rifles (i.e. magnetically accelerated, i.e. similar to micro rail-guns). The energy that will be imparted through those munitions would easily surpass the energy given above, as the energy is dependent on the mass multiplied by the square of the velocity. Higher velocity gives you mush more higher energy, and thus stopping power, than mass.

Now, if you want to consider the possibility of 40k Space Marine power armor as having Whipple shield (hypervelocity weapons can be stopped (for a while) by a Whipple shield (until it is shot full of holes). Whipple shields are set at some distance from the hull, if the spacing is larger than the radius of the explosion(the hypervelocity munition would explode due to shear force of impact), the shield takes damage but the hull does not), this is where burst fire comes into play.

Sutekh from Doctor Who could do it; he destroys stars with his mind.

This really all depends on which weaponry the Space Marine is given. Chainsword? Gonna probably not do well against a lot of foes. Bolter? A rapidfire grenade launcher puts him head and shoulders above the competition.

For the whole Elite thing... Anyone wielding an Energy Sword isn't going to be much of a threat, with it requiring them to be in range. The Arbiter could probably do it with some range, but is dead as soon as he's close up. An invisible elite could do it, but he has to be very stealthy... Something which I've noticed invisible Elites kinda suck at, much to my pleasure when killing them. Tartarus could definitely do it; explosives did zilch against his weird energy shield, and only extremely high firepower (Beam rifle) could disable it temporarily. And one hit from his hammer will flatten the Space Marine. Unless that Space Marine has a Melta or power weapon or whatnot, in which case Tartarus becomes the unfortunate victim of high firepower.

Commissar NIkev wrote:Nope....Warlock would win.........no question.....

Depends on WHICH Jedi or Sith. Some are pretty pathetic; Nihilus can kill everything on a planet with a thought.

P.S. I figured out where Honor Guards have cloaking; in Halo Wars, you can apparently get it as an upgrade.

I dont think hellboy would, although its hard for me to say (he does have a grown on powerfist) but i think that if tony stark survived his first encounter with a space marine, he would alter/create an iron man suit that could take out marines.... OR he would just launch the Jericho missile

Yes, but what would The Samaritan or Big Baby do to a marine? The former might be comparable to perhaps a Hotshot Laspistol and the latter made such a big mess of that plant monster in The Golden Army, that I don't think power armour would stand up to it.
