I'm painting a sorcerer for Mordheim.



It's a WIP, only the purple and the beige are finished.

Yay! Strangely I just put down my specialist miniatures catalogue to check Dakka. What are the chances of all that Mordheim nostalgia in one evening?!

I do enjoy your work with pink, you pull it off very well. The orks are a prime example.

I think Gits was talking about the sorcerer, who's wearing a pink dress, not about me.
Anyway I feel comfortable with my sexual identity, and I feel comfortable putting crazy colors on my models.


I don't know if you've seen it in the rumours and news section, but Warforge - the company that made the Commissar model - releases a new model this month.
And it's incredible.

I know he already sculpted models for Eden and for Bushido. Check his work, he improves his skills incredibly fast. The sister of battle you can see on his page is his entry for last year's Golden Demon. She's based on a Dark elve sorceress.

I saw her the other day its a fantastic model and was really tempted but I dont think I could paint her to a standard I would be happy with.

I spent too much time on this one for the result I get, but I'm still happy with the result.

Old models generally look damn good when painted to current standards.


I'm painting my dragon for Malekith I posted a few weeks (months ?) ago. It's a long hard road since I have no choice but painting the scales one by one...

What range and era is the dragon from? It looks like a modern WHFB kit but I don't follow that system much so I'm bot sure.

It's a WHFB dragon from 6th edition. It's Seraphon, Malekith's mount.
So I think it was released around 2001. The body and wings are common for several dragons from this era, and the head, hands and tail are specific metal parts.

No problem.
I used an army painter red can as a base (pure red), but a brushed basecoat would work as well. Then :
- apply purple wash everywhere to shade (GW leviathan purple)
- GW mephiston red (red gore would work as well) avoiding the lower part of the scales
- Army painter pure red (GW blood red is pretty similar) on upper half
- GW blazing orange on edges

That's it. Is it clear enough ? Or should I make a step by step picture ?

The black is just 2 washes of black over the army painter red. It'snot finished yet. ^^

I cant believe that a paint job has improved the detail so much, this has tempted me to dig through some of my old models

I'm with LDD, could stare at this for hours. The red on the dragon absolutely pops, wonderful paint job thus far. I'm also amazingly impressed with the claws, they look so real...

I love the way that's coming out Minus! The midnight blue/purple with the red is just spectacular.
