But i may play warmachine.
How much does an army cost for that?
$75CDN will get you started with a rule book and 2 playable forces. You can get by with a $50 starter force though, and to have a playable force (1-2 hour game) will cost about $150ish
Or trade your GW stuff and just pay shipping.
If real these price increases are silly and counter-productive. I used to spend hand-over-fist on GW but these kind of increase have made me spend less and less over the last couple of years.
I was considering getting back into WHFB next year...that money and most of my 40K spend will be used to re-start Warmachine even though it means starting again completely from scratch.

Go to last page, see giant fudging list of price increase. Mind blown.
You have got to be kidding me. There IS a limit to what people are willing to pay for GW stuff and they are seriously treading the edge now but for some reason, I can't get the dividends thing out of my mind either. Its as if they expect a HUGE drop in sales and subsequently getting bought out so they might as well cash in as much as they can now.
On the other hand, I have very interesting idea... that 6th could be GW's magnum opus. The 40k we've all been waiting for with fantasy level complexity rules and gameplay rules not catered to 12 year olds while everyone in the game dev office in london are secretly having a farewell party.
Dare to dream. The odds of that happening are like the odds of losing your virginity in a playboy bunny 3some.
Fantasyland is a beautiful place when the lights are off and no one is looking.
So i could have a playable force with a starter kit as i would starting and army for GW.
For 130 i could actually start a necron army like i said i want. then expand more from there.
Quite frankly. The stuff people dont really buy are going up.
Like bane blade. Not many buy that(i want one thought)

That would be incorrect.
You have to factor in the average point cost the game is intended for.
If this is true, and I doubt they will spike there prices that much, I may just have to quit 40k and fantasy. Not because i want to but I can get so much more from other companys. But it wont be the end of the world. Hordes, Warmachine, Infinity, Flames of war and many more will just get my money instead.

Chaos: 6500pts
Imperium: 2500pts
Orks: 1000pts
AoS Chaos 3000pts
Everyone in the US should be paying attention to the value of the USD..
The U.S. dollar is on a pretty good streak, hopefully by the end of the summer, we can have an exchange rate of 1.1 euro per dollar. Forgeworld would then be the best place to buy models.
I also find it kind of ironic that GW has increased its prices just as the USD has gained value.

I think we found the reason for the price increase. Baddy McBadass here has stolen GW into doing it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the quickest banning in Dakka's history.
On another note, with such a post, I fully expect GW customers in Australia to start resembling Mad Max gangs in the next 5 years.

Bluetau wrote:You have to be pretty daft to come to an established forum for warhammer/40k and to admit to stealing a battleforce and assorted blisters.
Let alone do it in a thread about rising prices.
Shame on you.
That was basically my reaction to a former friend telling me how he scammed a LGS out of a few items by claiming his card was stolen and getting the money back. Fething ass.

Honestly? If I could, I'd reach through the computer screen and give him a good 'what for' (most likely a stern talking to and several finger-waggings).
I may not respect GW as a company, but stealing from them in such a blatant fashion and then gloating about it is the definition of ass-hattery.

I was thinking bout starting a dwarf army but now I'm not sure. Isn't because they got hit hard price wise but considering how hard it is just getting new players locally might not be worth it...
Shame really cause I have alot of fond memories of playing wfb/40k over the years hate to see it end like this.
I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.
Well Im thinking of how little i actually bought from GW directly since the last price raise
10-15 blisters
1 tactical squad.
1 attack bike
1 vanguard vet squad
1 LS storm
that pretty much all i bought directly.
Now think about this. I have sense the price range got a job. So i have actually bought more looking around(the war store, ebay, etc etc)
I think if you look right, you can still find deals.
May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )

Thats still quite alot, around $220 ish.
Enough to adopt many dogs.

I dunno... as GW have raised their prices, I have definately been buying a lot less. I used to drop a pretty solid amount each month like clockwork on GW, but now I am down to 25% of what I used to spend because I cannot justify that much for plastic crack.
