No it's not, but what actual hard evidence do we have that they are going to raise the prices? I looked at the Bell of Lost Souls thread, as well as this one, and I didn't really see anything convincing. None of the hobby shop owners have gotten emails or anything, all we have is that list which may or may not be faked, or from Australia or something.

Seriously, why desn't GW try lowering their prices? They might actually make more money due to the amount of people who might start the hobby or buy more stuff.

my FLGS is actually downsizing there GW stock.

People there still play, but dont buy. And there are rumblings of it dying. Alot of less people are coming.

So that's how they got the information then, instead of just reading the email like everyone else?

Thats just the customers not buying from FLGS, and most probably from online discount sellers.

Your FLGS owner is basically supplying the space, table, and efforts for nil.

Hell, The store employees recommend discount retailers and we are starting to see GW stuff on clearence.
Like wolf riders for 30 bucks.

There's a note on the GW website confirming a price increase for the 28th.

And you may want to reread that BoLS thread. Plenty of shop owners are saying they've gotten the letter and the increases are as we've seen them here. And one schmuck (man, I've used this word a lot recently) on the BoLS forum - a certain owner of a depot for gubbins - spent the better part of a day proclaiming that the letter/sheets were false and were little better than poor efforts done by trolls.

Until, of course, he himself received that same letter. I hope he's choking down a good piece of crow pie right now.

As for price lowering? I don't see that happening. What sales GW lost won't magically come back when GW announces that Land Raiders are suddenly $30 apiece. They've got plenty of other problems. And, besides, Kirby hasn't finished his countryside castle yet, so there'll be a few more dividends to pay out in the future.

Holy CRAP. If they are really increasing prices that much, I'm ordering a whole bunch of crap tomorrow....

Would they REALLY make the prices that high though? How much will a SM or IG infantry squad be according to the list?

How long have you been introduced to GW?

the last 5 years they raised their prices like 3 times, EVERYTIME 15%-30% ish.

Well, like I said about 15 pages ago, I am now done buying GW models. I went to my FLGS today with some cash in my pocket and bought my first Khador caster!

As a hobby shop employee, yes, we have.

If the list was from Australia the thread would have been much more positive as it would indicate what may have been the first in a wave of price drops.

Thats actually the "correct" way, according to GW's theory.

Anyone that have money sense will be hard pressed to sell GW product to. Easier to cut them off early.
GW fans will purchase what they like ( in same amount ) without regarding price.
Hence GW fans will be the ones that supports that idealogy / business model.
Therefor GW will raise the price hoping to be supported by the fans.

The problem then comes becomes the ratio these die hard fan types join.

Even if GW's "adjusting for inflation" bull poop line was legit, it wouldn't be legit.

Apparently the average increase is ~4%. Still more than inflation, but still less than the Land Raider/Stormraven increase...
